On the Ground:
As we were in transit in PEK the only thing we had to do is to go through security control again. The queues were ok but staff was extremely unfriendly and harsh. No one spoke english which is really strange for such a big international airport. They were wondering through the private things even without reason.


After security we had 1,5 hrs until our next flight.

 

The Air China business class lounge is located in the middle of the massive international terminal. It is the only business class lounge and also this time it is crowded and full.
The choice of hot food was very limited, the Bar with alcohol wasn't attend. Quite a reduced and bad service in comparison during day.

 

Boarding started well ahead of the indicated time. We arrived at the gate about 10 minutes prior but boarding was already in full swing.

 

The crew was present in the cabin whilst boarding but wasn't as charming and friendly as on the previous flights.


Welcome drinks (champagne, juice, water) and newspapers were distributed as well as the menu and wine list for dinner and breakfast.
The seats were already equipped with slippers, headsets and amenity kits.

 

Inflight:
This Boeing 777-300 is configured with a 2-2-2 business class and a total of 42 seats.
We got our two seats by the window. The seats are comfortable and enough private space.

About 1 hour after take off the cabin crew started with the service.


Warm nuts and a drink was served shortly followed by the light snack which consisted of amuse bouche, some fresh fruits and a hot chiabatta sandwich.

3,5 hours before landing in Munich in the middle of the night at 2:30.AM the crew switched on the light and did the hot breakfast service. The food was delicious and fresh.
Then they switched off the light again and you had to wait another 2,5 hours until landing.

 

Bathrooms were cleaned throughout the flight and always refilled.
The amenity kit is ok. It has the regular content. Unfortunately the eye mask is made out of plastic and you start sweating and getting wet under it in less than a minute.

 

50 minutes prior to landing, the crew prepared the cabin for landing and sat down on their jumpseats.

The Cabin Crew on this flight was completely different from our previous 3 flights.


They were rather unfriendly and no smiles at all. Service was duty and that's it. Like robots and no interaction with the passengers.
They did a rather bad service this time.
In addition their English knowledge was at an absolutely basic level. No questions or normal conversation possible.

 

The inflight entertainment is ok. The system isn't the newest like on the Dreamliner but you have enough choice of films to survive a longhaul flight.


Air China is not really showing current or actual blockbusters like other airlines do.
No WiFi available.

 

All in all an below average flight. We were rather disappointed as the other 3 flights had been great.
The service concept in this sector is a disaster. Why are you waking up passengers 3,5 hours at 2:30AM to serve breakfast and then switch off the lights again for 2,5hours?
