On the Ground:
We booked a business class ticket on FlySafair so everything is included in the fare.
This includes a dedicated business class check-in, security, boarding baggage handling and lots of free bags. The only thing not included is the lounge. We did not book this option this time as we had a drink at the bar.
There are priority check in counters available with everyone who bought priority with their ticket.

There was only a very short queue at the priority check-in counter. The check-in agent was friendly and helpful. She chatted with us all the time and the process was done in no time.

Please read our review from our FlySafair flight from Joburg to Durban on 28th October. The Airline broke one of our suitcases and they refused to take a report or to cover the costs.
See below the last two pictures, which are our conversation with customer service where they tell us that we customers are ourselves responsible for broken checked-in suitcases. So better not to check suitcases with FlySafair and take as much as possible on board the aircraft.
An airline which refuses to cover damages they create to foreign property should be banned!
South Africa had signed the MontrΓ©al Convention about Baggage rules and they state clearly that the airline is fully reliable if the damage baggage. South African Civil Aviation Authority - SACAA why does FlySafair has not to stick to the Montreal convention about baggage rules?

Very short queue at the security check point. Staff was swift and friendly.

Boarding started at the indicated time but no preboarding was provided. Passengers just mixed after queueing correctly at the gate and then again whilst queueing in the bridge.
Staff was rather useless at the Gate in Durban.

At the aircraft door we were greeted by a cabin crew members.

Inflight:
The Boeing 737-800 is configured with a 3/3 seating layout.
If you buy a business ticket, then the middle seat is kept empty. Seats were comfortable and the legrest was very good.

Once airborne, the crew started with the Inflight service.

With the business ticket you can choose F&B items for up to 85R per Person.
The F&B selection they offer is great and prices are very very reasonable.
We just chose some soft drinks and Pringles for this short hop.

The plane was rather filthy today. Lots of garbage in the seat pocket and the tray table was super dirty.

Bathrooms were clean and fully stocked.

No Inflight entertainment and no WiFi available on this flight.

Deboarding was via stairs and a bus brought us to the terminal.

Baggage delivery worked very well. Bags were delivered 15 minutes after arrival on stand and all priority bags were delivered first.

All in all an okay flight with a South African Lowcoster, but....

If you travel with bags and if you can, stay away from FlySafair. Here is why:
As an international customer connecting in Johannesburg or if you are checking-in bags we can NOT recommend to book or fly with FlySafair.
If you are checking in a bag and it gets broken somewhere on the trip it is still your fault because you checked-in a bag and you will have to cover the cost yourself!
Also be careful when having an FlySafair flight as Interline Flight (connecting flight booked on one ticket) as also then FlySafair will not take any responsibility for damaged luggage. Following Airlines are currently Interline Partner of FlySafair: Air France KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Qatar Airways Emirates Kenya Airways Ethiopian Airlines and then check carefully on which airline you will be connecting.
FlySafair should grow up and take responsibility if they damage foreign property as they now have international flights which definitely fall under the MontrΓ©al convention of baggage and as they offer connecting flights on Interline partners.
