On the Ground:
I checked in with my mobile and had no bags to be checked.
We were in transit in Frankfurt and arrived in Terminal A. Our flight to Basel continued in B. Once in B, they told us there is no lounge, so back to terminal A as we thought we had 1 hour. Once
in the lounge in A and after about 10 minutes they made an announcement that all passengers with departure in B should contact the desk. They informed us that the tunnel was closed and we had to
exit and re-enter the terminal. When asking if they could inform the gate the agent said it is not their problem if we would miss the flight.
The queue at the security check points was about 5 minutes but the agents working there was a disaster and super unfriendly staff.
We did use the Lufthansa Lounge in A. It was super full and overcrowded. Choice of food and drinks were ok.
Boarding started exactly on time. No priority boarding was conducted but we had a bus Gate so it wouldn't have made sense.
Whilst boarding the crew distributed chocolates and they even made a water service prior departure.
Inflight:
The seats are surprisingly comfortable and ok for the size of the aircraft. The legroom is nice too. In Business Class with a 2/2 seating configuration only one seat of each side is given out,
the other one remains empty.
After take off, a cold snack was served. The snack was nice and tasty.
And again both Cabin Crew members on this flight were outstanding, friendly and efficient.
The Purser working in business class was calm and interacted with the customers during the entire flight with a smile. Lufthansa Mainline Crew could learn a lot from them.
No inflight entertainment system.
No WiFi available.
Deboarding in Basel was disaster. All passengers in one bus for a 50meters drive.
In front of us around 3 full busses from other planes so we had to wait around 10 minutes until we could get off the bus and decent a regular 1 meter stair to reach the arrival level.
Unfortunately again a disaster on the ground but once in the plane an outstanding crew and good product.
Is it worth the book business class on Lufthansa short haul flights? No, it is not and we would not recommend it. Even us we will be checking other options first.
