On the Ground:
We were at the Airport 2 hours prior departure time.
There is a first luggage screening process when entering the terminal building. TAP had already 2 check-in counters open. One for business class and one for economy. But that didn't make any
difference as the business class counter took economy class first even people were queuing.
Check-in went quite smooth and the agent was friendly and attentive. Our bags were checked through to Zurich and the boarding passes for both flights were handed
out.
Thanks to the Business Class Ticket we could use the fast track lanes at Marrakech Airport.
There was no queue at all at the security checkpoint as well as emigration. It was super easy and simple to go through.
TAP Air Portugal has no lounge contracted in Marrakech. So no benefits of a Lounge for business class.
We departed from Gate A6 in Marrakech. The terminal is quite new and beautiful. There are lots of shops and F&B outlets in the terminal.
The gate operation was a disaster. Basically there was an announcement made which no one understood. Then the agents just shouted "Lisbonβ come here. Which ended up in a chaos. No
stanchions for queuing, no priority boarding etc.
The Crew was pleasant whilst boarding and present in the cabin to help.
The crew distributed sanitizing wipes during boarding. No welcome drink or water bottle after boarding.
Unfortunately the announcements of the crew were not understandable as they were way to fast.
Inflight:
The seats are comfortable and ok. The seating configuration on this Airbus 319 is in a 3/3 layout with the famous European Business class which means the middle seat remains empty.
Positively is that the head rest is movable and perfect for a little nap. This A319 was even equipped with inseat power to charge your devices.
After take off, the crew distributed an information leaflet with the current COVID guidelines in Portugal. This did not exist 1 week ago.
Then they distributed the menu cards for business class.
Once more I was speechless about the great in-flight service TAP Air Portugal is offering.
On today's flight we were served a hot lunch on a full size tray with a starter, hot lunch as well as a dessert. In addition hot bread was offered.
Drinks were offered every time the crew passed and the service was done by hand.
An absolutely excellent and fantastic service. Thank you TAP for keeping such a high standard.
The in-flight crew on this flight was very good and friendly.
They were present in the cabin and did a great service but interacted much less with the passengers and remained mostly in the Galley.
Unfortunately the Aircraft has no Inflight entertainment system and No WiFi.
All in all, again a great experience for a 1hour 30 minutes flight. Good crew and a great service.
I would definitely recommend TAP Air Portugal for future travels.
