On the Ground:
We checked in at the airport. As we were traveling in Business Class only a shorty queue at check-in.
The agent was friendly and helpful and after checking all our documents until our final destination we were handed out our boarding passes. We are in transit in Lisbon but our connecting flight only leaves tomorrow morning. Luckily we were able to be checked through to our final destination so we can skip the check-in counters tomorrow in Lisbon.
Once again the security control was top notch in Zurich.
Even it was rush hour at noon, no queues at all. We could walk straight to the check point and staff was super friendly too.
As TAP Air Portugal has no own lounge in Zurich you can use the Swiss Lounge which figures as the Star Alliance Lounge.
The Lounge was overcrowded at the beginning as we were there at rush hour. After around 20 minutes it emptied quite fast.Choice of drinks was good and the quality of the food was fresh. Today they had rather a strange menu but otherwise nice presentation as always.
Gate staff was friendly and helpful with customers.
All announced made in 3 languages und super clear to understand.
Priority boarding was exactly conducted as per procedure.
The Crew was super pleasant whilst boarding and present in the cabin to help.
The crew distributed sanitizing wipes during boarding. No welcome drink or water bottle after boarding.
Inflight:
The seats are comfortable and ok. The seating configuration is a 3/3 with the famous European Business class which means the middle seat remains empty.
Positively is that the head rest is movable and perfect for a little nap.
The cabin crew on this flight was really good. They were laughing, smiling and interacting with the passengers. They had fun and liked what they did. Especially the purser was amazing.
Once airborne, the crew distributed the menu cards which left me speechless by surprise as I don't know any other European carrier who hands out menu cards on a 2,5 hours European flight.
Shortly after an aperitif was served before the regular meal service.
You could choose your drinks from the beverage trolley accompanied by some peanuts.
The Service the crew delivered was outstanding.
They serve a full size tray with a starter, a hot meal where you have 2 choices, fresh bread and butter as well as a dessert. Drinks were offered every time the crew passed with the trolley followed by coffee tea service by hand.
An absolutely excellent and fantastic service. Thank you TAP for keeping such a high standard.
Unfortunately the Aircraft has no Inflight entertainment system and No WiFi. This is sad as this airplane is brand new.
Around 20 minutes before landing in Lisbon, the crew went to all connecting passengers to inform them about their connecting flight and gate number.
All in all, an amazing travel experience for a 2,5 hour flight. Great crew and a great service.
I would definitely recommend TAP Air Portugal for future travels.
