On the Ground:
We checked in online so we just needed to drop our bags.
Qantas only uses self service bag drops for economy and there were no queues. As I managed to get βrubyβ (silver) status with oneworld we were allowed to check in on the Business
Counter.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
The line at the central security was rather short and we were able to go through security in only a few minutes.
Gate Staff was nice and friendly. Priority boarding was conducted and economy was let in once all together.
The Inflight Service Manager was checking the boarding passes and greeted all passengers by name. Boarding was quick and the crew was present in the cabin to help to stow the bags.

Inflight:
The seats are ok but nothing special or extra for economy. The backrest is in a full full upright position which makes it rather uncomfortable. The leg room is like any regular economy but
ok.
The flight time was set with around 2hrs 5minutes.
On cruising altitude the crew served hot snacks for Lunch. Choice was either chicken-mushroom pie or pastrami-cheese toast. The meal trolley was followed by drinks.
Around 30minutes prior landing small water bottles were distributed.
The Cabin Crew was nice and attentive. What I liked most was that the crew used full sentences all the time when talking to customers. Usually all you hear in economy is βchicken or pasta, chicken or pastaβ.
The Inflight entertainment for shorthaul is top. You get free headsets and have the full system available with tons of films, tv programs, music etc. Most films are available in multiple
languages.
There is no WiFi available on board.

All in all a good flight in Economy. I would especially point out the attention to details by the cabin crew.
It was definitely the cabin crew who made the difference on this flight.

Qantas Flights are expensive if you compare them with Europe, Asia or North America so it is nice to see that at least the product is ok.
I would recommend Qantas if you are looking for a full service airline.
