On the Ground:
We checked in online so we just needed to drop our bags.
Qantas only uses self service bag drops for economy and there were no queues. As I managed to get β€žrubyβ€œ (silver) status with oneworld we were allowed to check in on the Business Counter.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.

There was no line at the central security so we were through in no time.
The terminal is old and ugly. It really gives you the impression of a bus station and not an airport.

Gate Staff consist of a supervisor and that’s it. I find it strange that on both Qantas Flights we had the Cabin Crew boarding the passengers at the gate and then they board the aircraft as last ones. No gate agents are present. Scanning of boarding passes is done by the cabin crew.

Boarding was quick. No cabin crew present in the cabin to help.

Inflight:
The seats are ok but nothing special or extra for economy. The backrest is in a full full upright position which makes it rather uncomfortable. The leg room is like any regular economy.

The flight time was set with around 1hr 5minutes.
On cruising altitude the crew served a snack box containing crackers and cheese. The meal trolley was followed by drinks.
The service is really ok for a 1hr flight.

The toilets on this flight were filthy and dirty. It looked like they haven’t been cleaned for the entire day.

The Cabin Crew was present but that’s about it. No interaction with the customers and no smiles.

The Inflight entertainment for shorthaul is top. You get free headsets and have the full system available with tons of films, tv programs, music etc. Most films are available in multiple languages. Headsets can be taken at the gate or from the crew free of charge and they have a decent quality for economy.


There is no WiFi available on board.

Just a regular economy class flight. Basically it was the same as taking a bus.

For a flight like this, I would leave it open if I would choose them again. The only benefit is the little snack and refreshment you get.
