Paulβs 202nd Flight Report
Flight LX735
AMS - ZRH / Airbus A220-300
Economy Class
On the Ground:
Check-in was very relaxed this time. There was no queue at all at the LHGroup priority check-in.
The Agent at the check-in counter was super friendly and helpful. He was chatty and the process was done very fast and professional.
The security checkpoint was no problem at all this time. There was only a very short queue of about 5 minutes.
Staff wasn't the most friendly one and as already mentioned on last flight report, the new security scanners do not seem to be very effective and helpful if around 75% of the bags go for
secondary screening.
Thanks to the Senator
Star Alliance Gold status, we were able to use the Star Alliance Lounge which was just reopened recently.
The lounge is super beautiful, modern and it has a very welcoming atmosphere. The F&B selection was top. They had a big hot items buffet as well a a very big cold items buffet including
sweets.
There are several drinks, alcohol and coffee stations throughout the lounge.
Staff at the Star Alliance Lounge was very attentive and super friendly.
For this flight, the gate was actually quite okay for Amsterdam. Gate agents were friendly and helpful.
Priority boarding started at the. Indicated time and a short announcement was made. They boarded strictly zones 1 & 2 and sended all other groups away from the gate.
At the
Aircraft door we were greeted by a friendly Maitre de Cabin and one of the Flight Attendants was in the cabin and assisting passengers whilst boarding.
Inflight:
The Airbus A220 is equipped with a 2/3 seating configuration.
The seats are very comfortable and also the legroom in Economy is okay. We were lucky to get the emergency exits with extra legroom.
As Swiss
has said goodbye to their Inflight service, all you get on all European flights in Economy is a bottle of water and the famous Swiss chocolate.
All other items have to be purchased from the menu on board. Prices for the F&B products are exorbitant expensive. just as an example :
A chicken sandwich costs 11.50CHF (12.50US$) and a combo of cold cuts and a small bottle of wine costs 25.00CHF (27US$).
Prices for the Swiss Saveurs Menu are simply INSANE and a ripp of. You just pay the name "sprΓΌngliβ.
So for
everyone as a hint, bring your own food and drinks from inside the terminal as it is much much cheaper.
The
cabin crew on this flight was very good and motivated.
There is no Inflight entertainment on this Aircraft.
No WiFi available.
After the flight:
Baggage delivery in Zurich was okay, rather bad for Zurich. First bags were delivered 24 minutes after arriving on the parking position.
First bags delivered were priority bags.
Summary:
If it wouldn't be for our Gold Status and all the included perks, we would recommend that for such an economy class flights without a proper Inflight service only the price counts. So if
Swiss is cheaper than the competitors, you can book them.
