On the Ground:
We were in transit in Frankfurt so we didn't have to check in.
Connecting in Frankfurt like always was a huge hassle.
They should take an example on other European airports how transiting works.
We landet at 5:20 AM local time in Frankfurt. Together with 3 other longhaul flights we had to queue at one single immigration counter which was open. Only slowly they opened up 2 additional
lanes.
Then you have to go landside and walk to the other terminal where the European flights start.
Agents screaming at each other, agents yelling at passengers and absolute rude und unprofessional behavior that even a super visor comes to calm agents. Waiting time for screened bags were
above any acceptable times. They were super slow because every bag had to go for second screening. It makes absolutely no sense to buy and have the newest generation of scanning machines but
not knowing how to use them.
Thanks to our ticket we were allowed to use the Lufthansa Senator Lounge at Frankfurt Airport. The lounge is quite big in size and offers several food and beverages stations. Food was nice
and fresh and all kind of drinks were available.
The lounge would never win a design price but it was good to be able to wait in a quiet zone.
As we had almost 2,5 hours in transit, I did take the chance to shower and freshen up as we were already traveling for almost 24 hours.
We had to board our flight via a bus gate in Frankfurt. Boarding started around 10 minutes ahead of the indicated time. Priority boarding was conducted and the agent working the gate was
quite ok.
On board, once we were on, the cabin crew was welcoming and friendly.
Water bottles and refreshing towels were handed out to the passengers right after boarding.
Inflight:
The seats are comfortable and have great legroom. The Airbus A320 is configured with a 3/3 seating configuration where the middle seat remains empty. This is the normal European Business
Class almost all carriers are offering.
This Airbus A320 was equipped with one of the first new seats and they were worn out.
After take off, a small breakfast was served followed by drinks. Breakfast consisted of a very small BirchermΓΌesli and 2 small CanapΓ©s.
Unfortunately Swiss has changed their small breakfast. The CanapΓ©s looked better than the ones on the flight getting to Frankfurt but it still looks rather cheap.
Otherwise the food was good and fresh.
The quantity was definitely okay for a 45 minutes flight.
The Cabin Crew was okay on this flight. They were friendly but super stressed and running around headless.
The Swiss Arbus 320 family is equipped with an inflight entertainment system which consists of screens above every third seat row. After take off a film with news and information was shown
followed by the most famous film in Aviation: "the mapβ.
Baggage was already delivered 14 minutes after arriving at the stand and priority bags were delivered first.
Summary:
All in all an okay flight. Ground experience for immigration and security was bad, the lounge was good and the crew was okay.
I know that all departments can do much better.
