Paul‘s 216th Flight Review
Flight: LX1349
WAW - ZRH / Airbus A320
Flight Time: 1 hour 35 minutes
Business Class
During the Flight :
Food presentation:
Food quality:
Amenity Kit: N/A shorthaul
On the Ground:
We checked in the day before on the Swiss App.
As we had no bags to check-in for this weekend trip, we could skip the check-in at the airport.
We arrived at the airport around 2 hours prior departure.
Warsaw Airport has a separate dedicated priority / Star Gold security lane.
There was no queue at all. Actually there was not a single person ahead of us. We could basically walk from curbside to the lounge.
Staff was polish friendly, efficient and helpful.
Lounge:
As we
had enough time, we visited the LOT Polish Airlines business class lounge. They do have a small but very private section which is called Elite Club Lounge and the entry is for Gold Members or
higher only.
This
small lounge is much more quiet and has a more personal atmospher as the big business lounge.
The F&B product was good. They offer a very big variety of cold drinks, a. Full alcoholic bar and even a special vodka station.
The food buffet consistent of hot dishes, a salad bar, cold cuts as well as cold snacks. For such a small lounge the F&B selection was very good and tasty.
Gate:
Staff at the gate was okay. There was a priority boarding but they did not make any announcements. They yelled the boarding groups into the waiting passengers and that was it.
Even we got a push message and a email that the flight would be delayed, they started boarding almost on the original indicated boarding time.
Boarding:
At the
aircraft door we were greeted by the senior cabin crew member (Maitre de Cabine) and another crew member. The crew was super present and friendly whilst boarding.
As the
flight was completely fully booked, the seats were already equipped with a bottle of water and refreshing towels.
Inflight:
The seats on this Airbus 320 were comfortable and ok. They have seen their best times as some of them were really worn out
Otherwise Swiss offers the regular European Business Class on their Airbus 320 family with a 3/3 seating configuration where the middle seats remain empty.
Announcements of the cockpit crew were clear and understandable and so were the announcements of the Cabin Crew.
Inflight Service:
After take off, a cold snack was served. Honestly spoken this snack was one of the lower quality ones I have seen with Swiss in a long time.
Presentation looked very cheap and also the quality wasn't top.
I know that departing in the middle of the afternoon is difficult to cater for everyones taste.
But why
not offer a nice Cake or Fruit Tart with coffee? I guess it would have been more appreciated.
The crew was super present in the cabin and offered drinks several times and always asked for refills before clearing.
The cabin crew once again amazing. The two crew members in Business Class worked hand in hand and they did an amazing job. Top customer service, attention to details and chatting with the
guests. Especially the M/C went above and beyond.
Entertainment / WiFi:
The Swiss Airbus 320 family is equipped with an inflight entertainment system which consists of screens above every third seat row. On this flight, they only showed the most famous film in
Aviation: "the map“ and the Information / Swiss News after take-off.
No WiFi available on this flight.
I still think Swiss has one of the best information systems on board prior arrival into their Home-Hub Zurich.
Around 15 minutes prior arrival they display the airport map, the arrival information of the current flight as well as all connecting flight instructions.
Arrival Services:
As we
had no bags checked in, we can not comment on the baggage delivery in Zurich .
Summary:
All in
all another great flight with Swiss.
