Paulβs Flight Report for
Swiss
International Air Lines
Flight: LX966
ZRH - BER / Airbus A321
Flight Time: 1 hour 5 minutes
During the Flight :
Amenity Kit: N/A shorthaul
After the Flight :
Baggage Delivery: no bags checked in
On the Ground:
I checked-in on my mobile via the Swiss App and we had no bags to be checked. So check-in was done in no time.
We were traveling during the noon departure peak time, but once we arrived at the airport it took us less than 15 minutes from entering the airport building until we were in front of the
lounge.
There were no queues at the boarding pass control and a rather short queue at the security checkpoint. It took us maybe 4-5 minutes to wait until it was our turn.
Before
heading to the gate, we visited the Aspire lounge with our Priority Pass. (The Aspire Lounge is not contracted from Swiss and we will rate it but the lounge will not be taken into the overall
flight review rating because of this.)
The lounge interior is modern and offers lots of seating.
The F&B product according to our taste was much better than last time. A small buffet with cold items (two salads, 2 different sandwiches was available) as well as a little buffet with
hot items such as soup, Γlpler Maccaronen, a typical Swiss pasta dish as well as a chicken dish with black rice. and some ratatouille with rice.
The food was fresh and tasty and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. They had fun in what they were doing.
We arrived at the Gate 10 minutes prior the indicated boarding time to find out that boarding was delayed by 10 minutes.
Gate staff was chaotic and super stressed. They did their job but otherwise nothing to write about.
At the aircraft door we were greeted by the Maitre de Cabin. He was super friendly and smiling and we knew him from previous flights.
Catering was still loading the galley whilst we were boarding.
Once everyone was on board, the crew distributed the water bottles and refreshing towels.
Inflight:
The seats on this Airbus 320 were comfortable and ok. Leg room is okay on the older aircrafts.
Otherwise Swiss offers the regular European Business Class on their Airbus 320 family with a 3/3 seating configuration where the middle seats remain empty.
After take off, a cold snack was served accompanied by drinks.
The tray consisted of some salmon with a pear or apple salad with carrots, the must Swiss cheese and a little dessert. The crew offered some bread and butter. They offered several refills of
drinks.
The food was good, fresh and the quantity was definitely sufficient for a 1 hour flight.
The
Cabin Crew was super welcoming and friendly. The service offered was top notch and they went above and beyond on this short flight.
Announcement from the flight deck were very good. They were clear and understandable.
Announcements from the cabin crew were to fast but still understandable.
The Swiss Airbus 320 family is equipped with an inflight entertainment system which consists of screens above every third seat row.
On this flight, they only showed the most famous film in Aviation: "the mapβ and the Information / Swiss News after take-off.
No WiFi
available on this flight.
After the Flight:
Arrival in Berlin was at a gate position.
As we had no bags checked in, we can not comment on the baggage delivery in Berlin for this flight.
Β All in all another good flight with Swiss. Good and friendly crew with a nice inflight product.
