General Info:
The hotel is located in Dornbirn, Austria close to the A14 Highway in the industrial district of Dornbirn.
A few steps from the hotel there is a shopping center and the trade fair hall. In front of the hotel there is a local bus stop which brings you to Dornbirn and Bregenz.
Otherwise there is not a lot in walking vicinity except some fast food restaurants and a very good Italian restaurant. Other than these, there are no restaurants and bars around and you have to take the bus or your own car to go for dinner.

The Hotel itself is currently under renovation and reconstruction. It used to have a total of 120 rooms and suites and currently they are adding an additional two floors of guest rooms bringing it up to a total of 162 rooms and suites.

The building looks very modern from the outside and all public spaces such as the lobby, the bar/restaurant as well as the breakfast restaurant on the 11th floor were just newly renovated.
They are currently building 2 floors of new rooms and some of the old rooms got a face-lift in the bathrooms. The old rooms are still okay and in good shape but hopefully the hotel will also renovate them to bring them to the new standard.
In the public areas, the hotel is very modern, beautifully furnished and does not really compare with the Four Points standard. This hotel is on a top level for a Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.
Check-in:
The check-in was really nice. The agent was super welcoming and greeted us with a smile when we approached the front desk.
She was very professional and did the check-in in a fresh breathy way. She chatted with us all the time during the process and gave us all the information we needed for our stay.
Check-out:
Check-out was good. The agent interacted with us and asked for a feedback about our stay.

In general the Staff at the front desk was amazing. They were super helpful, always friendly and did a fantastic job. They show the famous Austrian hospitality and go above and beyond for their guests. One of the best front office teams I have seen in a long time.

Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Recognition:
During check-in, the agent did not acknowledged our status by saying so, but she provided all the benefits which come along.
We were asked, if we would like to have the points or the breakfast as welcome benefit an we were upgraded to a Junior Suite at check-in.

There was a nice handwritten card in the room and as a welcome amenity there was a KitKat chocolate bar.

All in all a good recognition as Ambassador Elite Member.

Eligible nights and points:

The hotel posted the nights, points as well as the qualifying spend the day after our stay.
Unfortunately, the amounts which were posted were highly incorrect and I had the Ambassador Team correct the posted amounts.

The Hotel posted a qualifying spend of 523$US whilst the correct amount as per Folio would have been 704$US. This also results in an incorrect posting of points. The hotel posted 9146 Points whilst correct would be 12322 Points.

Always check and compare your postings with the folios you get at checkout.

Concierge:
There was no concierge but the front desk helped where they could and as best as they could.
Room / Suite:
The Junior Suite we got upgraded thanks to our Ambassador Status was really nice. We got room 1010 on the highest floor for guest rooms.
The Suite is 38sqm in size and offers a double twin bed, a desk as divider and a seating area with a couch and a lounge chair. Unfortunately the seating area is rather cramped and there isn't really the space to sit down.
All rooms have Floor to ceiling windows which offer an amazing view especially on the mountain side. Unfortunately this wall entirely made of glass has its downsides to.
During our stay it was mostly sunny and hot (~30°C) and the sun burns on the windows almost the entire day. Our room heated up to ~32°C and the little old and tiny aircondition couldn't cope with it.
It was impossible to sleep the first night. Luckily you can open some of the windows and around 4AM it luckily cooled down to a temperature where you could sleep.
The next day whilst checking with the front desk, they offered us an additional mobile A/C unit which helps to cool down the room to at around 26-28°C during day and regular temperatures during night.
The interior of the room is otherwise in good shape. Lots of wood, bright and light colors, a wooden floor. The suite has still a modern touch.
Unfortunately the atmosphere suffered a lot due to the heat in the room.

As said, the air conditioning is a disaster and can't cope with hot weather at all.

WiFi was super slow in the room and regular data roaming was much faster.
In addition the connectivity in the Hotel really depends on where you are staying. Sometimes top and at some places no connectivity at all.
The bed itself was good. The mattress is rather on the soft side and slightly at its end of the life cycle.
The bedding such as pillows and duvet were super comfy.
Bathroom:
The bathroom looks like it has been renovated recently. Beautiful black tiles and black marble, a very modern look and very bright.
The shower in our room vice versa was a disaster. It was a bathtub shower and it consisted of a sole single handheld shower head.
The hose was way to short so you can only lift the shower head to around 1.7 meters. The shower head want hold in its bracket and so you have to constantly hold it in your hands.
Water pressure would be very good.
Housekeeping:
Housekeeping is fully outsourced and it was the worst house keeping we have ever experienced in all these years.
A 5 year old does it's bed more properly than the house keeping team in this property.
Basically the bed was never really properly done.

This is how the beds look like after housekeeping has been in your room and done with it.

The room is clean but there is no attention to details.
The only positive is that they replenished the water bottles every day.
F&B outlets/ Lounge:
During day no F&B outlet is open it you can buy drinks at the Marketplace in the lobby next to the reception. This is okay for a Four Points by Sheraton.
Gastro Counter:
Gastro Counter is the hotel's sole bar and restaurant. There is no other F&B outlet available for dinner or drinks.
The Bar opens at 17:00 and the restaurant at 18:00.
As also this part is newly renovated, the interior is super nice and modern. There is a lot of wood and very bright colors to give the restaurant and bar a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel has integrated some amazing new features like wireless mobile charger in the bar.
Drinks at the bar were very good. Staff was always super friendly, attentive and they took the time to chat with the customers.
The food menu as well as the quality of food was super poor.
I know that this hotel is struggling with F&B staff (like many others) but then it might be better to reduce the menu further or to close the kitchen.
We learned that only one chef is on site at the hotel which is responsible for dinner and breakfast. The other chef is currently on vacation and this is why the hotel reduced the menu to a handful items.
On the first night we had dinner at the restaurant. We ordered some spare ribs and a burger. The spareribs were okay. They have been precooked and heated up the sousvide way. The presentation was.... Let's say just dropped on a plate.

The burger on the other side was a disaster. Well it wasn't a burger actually as there was no patty. There was some half raw minced beef stuffed into a breadbun garnished with some salad, tomatoes and tons of pickles. Actually the burger wasn't eatable and the Burger King next door makes much better burgers.

Top View Breakfast restaurant:
The Top View breakfast restaurant is the breakfast venue of the property. It is located on the 11th floor and has a stunning panoramic 270° view.
The restaurant was fully renovated and was just opened.
Wowww... What a breakfast venue for a Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.
It feels more like on a cruise ship with the view.
The interior is simply stunning and wow.
The buffet is absolutely top. There is a bread and pastry station, fresh fruits and juices, cereals, hot dishes, cold cuts and cheese and many more.
There was also a hot egg station but unfortunately they only offer sunny side up eggs or pancake. No omelet available and scrambled eggs is poor quality convenience food.
The quality of the fresh and cold food was top, hot items were mediocre.
Otherwise everything was freshly prepared and the chef was replenishing the buffet all the time.
Staff was okay, nothing to write home about or getting excited. There were all newbies and they were running around like headless chickens.
They were always friendly even they had no idea what they did.
Executive Lounge:
There is no lounge.
Pool / Spa / Gym:
This is the biggest advantage of this property.
I have never seen a Four Points by Sheraton with such a huge pool/wellness area. The hotel offers a huge indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool, lots of saunas and steambath, hammam as well as a relaxation area free of charge for all hotel guests. It was simply stunning!
The hotel also offers an own spa with treatments. The treatments aren't cheap but we had one of the best massages in our lives and it was worth every cent. As the spa still belongs to the hotel as Bonvoy Member you can also earn points and the spend counts toward your yearly summary. Dear Four Points by Sheraton Panoramahaus Dornbirn, please please do NOT outsource your Spa. This can be a huge selling points if you would do some marketing with Marriott Bonvoy Members.
Even they reduced the size of the gym massively (used to be an entire floor and more) they still offer a great gym for a Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.
Social Media:
Social media seems to be unknown to this property. They do post and repost some things on Instagram and Facebook but no interaction at all.
Summary:
All in all it was a good stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Panoramahaus Dornbirn.
The biggest hickups are the aircon in summer and the staffing situation at the F&B outlets which comes with very low quality of food.
Housekeeping is a disaster and definitely need some massive training.

The hard product is awesome and with the renovations of the public spaces and now with the new rooms the hotel has a great product. Not to mention the pools, wellness and spa.

The soft product with F&B needs to be taken care of and especially the quality and quantity of food served needs to improve.

This property has such a great potential if they manage to improve the above topics.
They offer the typical Austrian well known hospitality. The longer term staff do everything they can and offer a great customer service.

We would recommend this property and will definitely come back to see if they worked on the items as we really liked the property.
