Before we get to our review:
This property truly feels like our staycation spotβ€”a home away from home. Over the years, we've spent more than 80 nights here, and it remains one of our favorite destinations.
We love this hotel for its beautifully renovated rooms, one of the best pools, and an exceptional wellness area, especially among central European Marriott properties. Additionally, the familiarity and warmth of some staff members, whom we've known for years, make every visit feel like a homecoming.
Our extensive stays at this property have allowed us to experience it thoroughly, enabling us to provide an in-depth and thoughtful review.
Since our last stay, a few more changes have been made. This hotel is one of the rare properties that continuously improves and renovates different areas.

Over the past few months, they have renovated another three floors, and wowβ€”the results are fantastic! The new rooms are truly impressive.

As for the F&B at the gastro counter, it has returned to its regular offering. While it’s nothing extraordinary or worth dining in for, it’s a decent option if no alternatives are available.

General Info:
The hotel is located in Dornbirn, Austria close to the A14 Highway in the industrial district of Dornbirn.
A few steps from the hotel there is a shopping center and the trade fair hall. In front of the hotel there is a local bus stop which brings you to Dornbirn and Bregenz.
Otherwise there is not a lot in walking vicinity except some fast food restaurants and a very good Italian restaurant. Other than these, there are no restaurants and bars around and you have to take the bus or your own car to go for dinner. And you definitely need to go for dinner as the hotel menu is a disgrace to be called a menu.
The Hotel has a total of 162 rooms and suites.
5 floors are now completely renovated and new and the hotel is currently working on additional floors.
The building is very modern from the outside and all public spaces such as the lobby, the bar/restaurant as well as the breakfast restaurant on the 11th floor are brand new and newly renovated.
In the public areas, the hotel is very modern, beautifully furnished and does not really compare with the Four Points standard. This hotel is on a top level for a Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.
It is acutally on the level of a Sheraton or Marriott Hotel.
Check-in:
Check-in was like coming home. We were greeted personally by the team. We chatted together whilst an agent checked us in. We were given the keys and the whole process (well this was no process anymore) was done in a breeze.
Check-out:
Check-out was good. The agent was friendly and attentive, asked if everything was okay. He offered to print a preview of the invoice to check.
The front office manager came to bid farewell and wish us some happy holidays and a happy new year.
Staff at Frontdesk:
The Staff at the front desk in general is simply amazing. The front office team is very young but they do a great job.
All of them are always friendly and show some passion in hospitality.
If time permits, they are always up for a nice chat.
Marriott Bonvoy Titanium Recognition:
During check-in, the agent provided all the benefits which come along with our status.
We were asked, if we would like to have the points or the breakfast as welcome benefit an we were upgraded to one of the brand new executive rooms with balcony and mountain view.
When getting in to the room a beautiful welcome amenity was awaiting us.
They had prepared a beautiful cheese / fruit platter with a welcome card.
The property offers an absolutely great guest relations and customer recognition.
Eligible nights and points:
All parameters such as points, nights and revenue was posted 24 hours after our stay and it was posted correctly.
Concierge:
The property has no concierge but the front desk helps as best as they can.
Room / Suite:
The brand new Executive Room with balcony and mountain view is simply stunning and wow!
The new Executive rooms is only a little bit smaller than the "older" Junior suites but you can't feel the difference. Vice versa, the room itself seems to have the same size and with the balcony it even feels much bigger.
The room has floor to ceiling windows with a nice view over the mountains.
The atmosphere in the new room is simply amazing. Wooden floor, brand new interior, amazing lamps and light concept and some colors which freshen up the whole room. It gives you immediately a warm and cozy feeling.
The room has a king size bed with a modern headboard, a desk and desk chair, a cozy colorful wing chair with a reading light and a modern wardrobe.
The balcony is huge and offers a sofa and a wing chair with a table, cozy cussions as well as a floor lamp.
The bed itself is very comfortable.
Bedding such as pillows and the duvet are comfortable.
Bathroom:
The new bathroom is also wow! Very modern with a huge and amazing rainforest shower. The water pressure is absolutely efficient.
It is very modern and also here an amazing light concept with modern lights and what I loved, finally a hotel in Europe who offers some night lights if you have to use the restroom. Very well done.
Housekeeping:
Overall we have the bday that housekeeping has improved compared to the last stays and they did a good job.
The room was always clean, the bed was done more accurate than last time and they always replenished water.
WiFi :
WiFi remains a problem at this property.
WiFi in the room has improved compared to last stays but in some angles of the property or room there is no connection at all.
F&B outlets/ Lounge:
Gastro Counter:
Gastro Counter is the hotel's sole bar and restaurant. There is no other F&B outlet available for dinner or drinks.
The Bar opens at 17:00 and the restaurant at 18:00

The interior is super nice and modern. There is a lot of wood and very bright colors to give the restaurant and bar a welcoming atmosphere. The hotel has integrated some amazing new features like wireless mobile charger in the bar.

Gastro Counter BAR:
The Staff was always super friendly, attentive and they took the time to chat with the customers.
Drinks were good and the atmosphere was nice.
The bar was doing absolutely okay and the staffing issue from last time was solved.
Gastro Counter Restaurant :
We did not stay for dinner at the restaurant this time.
Compared to our last stay, the restaurant has returned to its regular offering. They still only have a small card, more bistro/bar style than a restaurant.
While the menu is nothing extraordinary or worth dining in for, it’s a decent option if no alternatives are available.
At least they have improved again.
Top View Breakfast restaurant:
The Top View breakfast restaurant is the breakfast venue of the property. It is located on the 11th floor and has a stunning panoramic 270Β° view.
Wowww, the breakfast team has truly raised the bar, taking an already exceptional experience to the next level. After reviewing over 170 Marriott International properties, we can confidently say this: Four Points by Sheraton Dornbirn has the BEST breakfast buffet among all Marriott Select Service Brands in Europe.
The restaurant up there feels more like on a cruise ship with the stunning view over the valley and the mountains.
The interior is simply stunning and wow.
The buffet they offer is great. There is a bread and pastry station, fresh fruits and juices, cereals, hot dishes, cold cuts and cheese and many more.
Finally they have found a great solution on how they can offer all types of fresh egg dishes. So finally you are also able to order an omelette on the weekend and not only during weekdays.
Executive Lounge:
There is no lounge.
Pool / Spa / Gym:
Still the biggest advantage of this property.
I have never seen a Four Points by Sheraton with such a huge pool/wellness area. The hotel offers a huge indoor pool, a heated outdoor pool, lots of saunas and steambath, hammam as well as a relaxation area free of charge for all hotel guests. It was simply stunning!
The hotel also has a spa. The treatments aren't cheap but quality wise very good.
Even they reduced the size of the gym massively with the renovation (used to be an entire floor which is now new rooms) they still offer a great gym for a Four Points by Sheraton Hotel.
Social Media:
The hotel posts on Facebook and Instagram and also interacts with customers who post. Their interaction is very fast and detailed. Social media has improved tremendous.
Summary:
All in all a fantastic weekend stay at this property because of the stunning room, the amazing staff we know and love and because of the pool/Wellness area which is one of the best in the Region.
Breakfast is a real highlight and for us it is the best breakfast for a Select Service Property by Marriott in entire Europe.
The bar at gastro counter was good and at least the restaurant is back at its basic menu.
We loved it here and can highly recommend it and we ourselves are already looking forward to our next stay.
