The Hotel is located almost downtown Vienna. The metro station from the U4 is just a few steps from the hotel. You can reach Schönbrunn with just one stop and downtown with all the famous sights is only 5 stops away. Public transport is easy to use. Just buy a Vienna card for either 24/48/72hrs.
The check in was super professional and friendly. The agent interacted with the guests and smalltalked. It gave it a very welcome and warm atmosphere. All status benefits were given or even topped without asking. All in all
a fantastic check-in.
Check out was super professional and friendly to.
We were lucky and got upgraded to a junior suite. It was huge, lots of windows and had great atmosphere. I loved the combination of modern, art, colours and
freshness. It gave the suite a breezy touch but it was still cosy and comfortable.
The bathroom wasn't renovated yet but it was still in good shape.
We had dinner at the Wunder Kammer and we tried the bar as well.
Dinner was ok but nothing special or fancy.
The bar is good and the staff was super nice and friendly.
However I don't like the concept that a single F&B outlet is used to be a Bar, Restaurant, sort of lounge and for breakfast.
It is neither fish nor fowl. It is no atmosphere for dinner and it is no atmosphere as a bar.
The decoration, colours, interiors and furniture however is great again.
Breakfast is something different. Unfortunately the Hotel accommodates multiple bus loads of tourists. These loads of people flood the breakfast and you have no
chance to enjoy a relaxed start into the day. The chef preparing the fresh eggs could not really speak German or English and it seems that he is there to accommodate the bus
loads.
We went to the reception and asked when the coaches would leave and come back by that time. The atmosphere was much quieter and more relaxed.
The buffet is great in quality and quantity. The food presentation is super and with lots of love and details.
Staff was nice to us but they were so stressed and running around that I had pity with them.
I do understand that city hotels have to accommodate such bus loads of tourists. What leaves a bad taste is the regular and frequent guests will not get the real experience of a property.
All in all this was a great stay. The hotel has a phenomenal Hardware (reception, restaurant, rooms). Staff at the reception is top and in general
good.
The F&B concept could tolerate some adjustments.
