Spoiler alert:
The first Moxy we visited without real Moxy spirit and vibes and staff which couldn't care less.
General Info:
The hotel is located in Utrecht, right next to the Vaartsche Rijn trainstation.
It is super easy to get here from Schiphol Airport and it takes around 40 minutes. Public transport is very easy and convenient to use.

A few steps from the hotel there is the old town of Utrecht. The location is awesome to explore the city by foot. There are plenty of restaurants, pubs and bars around the hotel.

The Moxy Utrecht is rather new and it opened on 2nd June 2021.
It has a total of 172 rooms including 9 family rooms. Otherwise the typical Moxy rooms.
The hotel in general is in good shape as it is new.
The Lobby area is very big and offers many different seating options.
As previously said, I really think that this is the first Moxy I visited, where the real authentic Moxy vibe is missing.
There is nothing typical or eye-catching in the lobby as it is in other Moxy's to indicate you are in Utrecht. (just parking a few rental bikes in the lobby isn't typical, that would work for the entire Netherlands and some other countries)
Yes, the Hotel is young, the decorations and interiors are very modern. The hotel looks like any other Moxy which is due to its design and furniture but there is no recognition factor which would make it special.

Usually it is a specialty at the Moxy, that you check in at the bar/reception as this is the actual center piece of every lobby. This center piece combines the front desk, the bar and restaurant all in one.

Here in Utrecht, the reception is also sort of combined with the bar but still it is separate. If you walk into the lobby, you don't see bar as a center piece but you see a real frontdesk with two counters.

Check-in:
The check-in was on the lower level ckeck-ins we have had in a long time. It seemed that the agent who checked us in had no clue what she did.
No interaction during check-in, no small talk, nothing, the only thing was simply: check the details and sign. Otherwise she was just staring into the screen.
Check-out:
Check-out was the same unfriendly disaster as check in. The agent couldn't have cared less. No question how was your stay, not thanking for staying with them, nothing. One of the worst front desk / restaurant / bar staff (as it is a Moxy) in a loooong time and such people definitely should not work in hospitality.
All staff at the front desk / bar were super unfriendly. I haven't seen such passionless and unmotivated people in a long time.
It really seems that 80% of the staff has no hotel and F&B experience. Which would be no problem if they would show passion in what they do.
The combination of passionless and clueless is deadly as hospitality is people's business.
No interactions with customers, no small talk with guests, just standing around with an expression on their face that you recognize from 500 meters that they are pissed working.
Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Recognition:
During check-in, no recognition at all.
Simply: "due to your status you can choose your welcome amenity of points or F&B credit"

We booked a normal Moxy Queensize-bed room and that is what we got. We'll at least we got one with canal view.

There was no welcome amenity in the room and not even a note on the mirror which usually is normal in a Moxy.

All in all no recognition as Ambassador Elite Member at Moxy Utrecht.

Eligible nights and points:
The nights, the ponits as well as the revenue were only posted 10 days after the stay. In additon the revenue as well as the points were incorrect and had to be corrected by the Ambassador Team.
Concierge:
There was no concierge and when asking at the frontdesk for a restaurant recommendation, they were not able to help.
Room / Suite:
The Moxy room we got was nice and it is the typical Moxy room like everywhere.
The room was equipped with a queen bed, the wall mounted wardrobe and small desk and it had a big floor to ceiling window with a nice canal view.
The room itself was super modern, trendy with useful furniture and decoration.
The aircondition worked perfectly fine.
The bed was a shame for a hotel bed. The mattress was completely worn out on one side and you could feel all the bedsprings /spring frames. The other side is very firm, which is okay for us.
The bedding was so so. The duvet was super comfy but the pillow was unfortunately a brick, super hard and very uncomfortable. Not usable.

WiFi is without login in the entire hotel and it worked perfectly okay.

Bathroom:
The bathroom was also the typical Moxy bathroom and on the smaller side. It was super modern and bright and offers all the needed amenities.
Housekeeping:
The room was clean and the bed was done properly. Housekeeping did a great job in the rooms.
However, the public areas were rather dirty. The floor in the Elevators was super sticky and full of spilled drinks.
F&B outlets/ Lounge:
The concept of Moxy Hotels provides only a Bar with Snacks and the Breakfast Buffet.
We had a few drinks at the bar but didn't try their snacks as we went outside for dinner.
The drinks were okay in quality. The staff as said before was terrible. The guy was so pissed to make our cocktails and it took forever.
As always we ordered Mojitos. There were no Straws for the driks and there were no stirrer. When asking the staff, he shrug his shoulders and said there aren't any. So at the end we got a fork to stirr our cocktails.

The restaurant / bar area was super filthy. Tables were dirty and not cleaned and a lot of dirty dishes and bottles were standing around everywhere. Staff didn't care to clean or to tidy up.

The breakfast buffet would have been good concerning the variety of products. The quality was something completely different.
The buffet consists of following stations and items: bread, pastry, cereals, hot dishes, cold cuts and cheese, salad, fresh fruits and joghurt as well as other items.
The quality of the food was really bad. Cheese and meat cold cuts must have been prepared the day before but stored incorrectly and not covered. Every single slice of cheese was already dried out and some of them were so dry the cheese even cracked. Same thing was with all meat cold cuts. All of them were dried out.
The scrambled eggs were also completely dried out and the staff had 2 more full pots standing behind the bar for the entire morning.
Moxy has the concept of taking a tray and to collect all breakfast items yourself. Unfortunately on the entire buffet there is not a single spot where you can place your tray to put items on it. During our breakfast we saw 3 full trays falling on the ground and it creates an extra mess and extra work to clean the floor.
All in all not a good experience.
Executive Lounge:
No Lounge at Moxy
Pool / Spa / Gym:
The hotel has a small but well equipped gym but nothing else.
Social Media:
Social media for this property is super strange. The property does not have a real Facebook page and it has no Instagram page at all. This is very weird especially for a Moxy.
They run under a general account for the entire Netherlands which is hosted by the franchisee.
Never the less, they interact on Instagram but nothing on Facebook.
Summary:
All in all the worst stay at a Moxy we have ever had for a Moxy hotel.
Would I recommend this property? I don't really know and I would not really come back myself except if I had no other options.
