First and foremost: Please note, that we do rate and review the Hotels on our personal experience during our stay.

General Info:
The Hotel Atlantic Hamburg is located in the St. Georg District of Hamburg and right at the Aussenalster. Giving some of the rooms a lake view and a nice area to go for a walk.
Touristy wise or for a weekend trip this isn't the best location but absolutely doable.

There are many restaurants and bars in the vicinity of the property and we even walked to the LandungsbrΓΌcken. It is a 40 minutes walk right through the city and shopping district of Hamburg. Public transport is also in the vicinity of the hotel and takes makes it easy to explore the area.

The Hotel Atlantic Hamburg is part of Marriott International's Autograph Collection and it is a 5-star superior property. In our eyes absolutely justified. Once also the rooms and suites as well as the remaining areas have been updated, we would rather see them as a Luxury Collection property than an Autograph.
The hotel is an old, grand but classy and stylish lady. The Hotel Atlantic was opened in 1909 as a Grand Hotel for passengers of the Hamburg-America Line. The maritime theme still runs through the entire Hotel today. There are many different dekos, some very obvious and others very small, hidden and subtle ones.
The property has a total 188 rooms and 33 suites spread over 4 floors.
Check-in:
The check-in was good. The agent was super friendly and helpful and he explained us everything about the property.
Check-out:
Check-out was good as well. The agent interacted with the guests, was super attentive and made sure everything was okay during our stay and asked actively for feedback.
Frontoffice:
Staff at the Frontoffice was generally very nice and helpful.
Leaving and entering the property you have to pass by the reception and mostly they greet you.
Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Elite recognition:
The agent at check in recognized our status and thanked us for our loyalty. Thanks to our Ambassador Status with the Marriott Bonvoy program, we were upgraded to a Superior Suite.

The agent offerd us the points or the F&B credit as a welcome amenity. Because the Hotel Atlantic has no lounge we were also offered free breakfast at the Alstersalon restaurant or an additional 750 points. We definitely went for the breakfast.

There was a nice handwritten card in the suite together with a beautiful presented welcome gift.

Eligible nights and points:
1st Update / 19th Jan 2023: even 4 days after check out, no Nights, no Points and no. Revenue posted to my account. I know that by T&C's the hotel is allowed up to 10 days to post. But... I have found out, that the whole reservation has disappeared from my account and usually 98% of the Hotel post 24-48 hours after the stay that is why I will contact the front desk today. Experience has shown that if the posts aren't on the account after 24 to 72 hours, they won't come at all.
Otherwise, the Ambassador Service will have to take care of it after the deadline.
2nd Update / 22nd Jan 2023: Also a full week after the stay no Nights, Points or Revenue were posted to my account.
As I wrote on the first update, i contacted the front office and told them that my stay was not credited to my account and that i actually noticed that the whole reservation has disappeared i am concened that it will not post.
The front office rather send an unfriendly harsh response that i have to wait for 10 days and then they will be willing to help.
Not a way to go for a 5 Star propery.
Third update: 29th Jan 2023
I have never heared anything from the hotel. They never answered my emails (To frontoffice and to the GM) nor would anyone else get in contact.
A disastrus gesture of such a property-
Concierge:
The concierge and especially the bellboy team is super friendly and helpful.
They always did take some time to talk to us and offered their help or support.
Management / Leadership Team:
Invisible at this property. We haven't met or seen a single member of the management team.
Room / Suite:
As said above, we were lucky to be upgraded to one of the superior suites on the 3rd floor with a nice view over the Aussenalster.
The suite was actually massive with 80sqm and it consists of a spacious hallway, two rooms and a big bathroom There is a big living room at the end of the hallway with a stunning water view over the Aussenalster.

Starting from the hallway on the left is the bedroom and the bathroom.

Both rooms have big floor to ceiling windows. The living room feels very open and airy.
The color scheme of the rooms is actually quite modern with dark furniture, grey and lilac accents but the walls look bare and cold. There is a lack of paintings or decorative elements in the rooms.
Since the building is already over 110 years old, it is a really beautiful old building. The ceilings in the rooms are gigantic high (I would guess 3,80 to 4,00 meters) and give the suite a feeling of size.

The living room has a very big sitting area with a couch, two chairs and a table as well as a desk with an office chair and a separate reading corner.

The bedroom has a king size bed, a built-in closet, which on one side serves as minibar and on the other side as the regular wardrobe.

The mattress was unfortunately completely worn out on one side of the bed and had quite a hollow. In addition the mattress is on the very soft side. I did not really sleep well.
The bedding vice versa was phenomenal.
Two super fluffy but still full plows and a very light and fluffy duvet.
To mention is the attention to details as the pillows have the logo of the Hotel embroidered on them.
As all F&B and public areas have just been renovated to perfection, the hotel will have to spend some money and love to their rooms too.
They are still in good shape but do not cope anymore with the rest of the property.
Bathroom:
The bathroom is okay in size. As everything is on one side it feels a little cramped. It consists of a double vanity, a bathtub and a huge walk in shower.
The walking shower has a rainforest shower head. Unfortunately the water pressure is on the weaker side and it feels more like a drizzle than a rain shower.
Housekeeping:
Housekeeping does a great job. The room was cleaned properly, and the bed was done perfect and impeccable.
All areas were super clean and when we passed the housekeeping team in the corridor, they were super friendly, greeting and smiling.
Turndown service was done nightly.
F&B outlets/ Lounge:
All F&B areas have just been renovated and look amazing. The mix of modern and old, the colors used and the style is simply wow and amazing. Fantastic work of the interior designers.
Alstersalon:
The Alstersalon is the breakfast restaurant of the property. It was just renovated and it looks absolutely stunning.
The wooden floor, the new furniture and the colors chosen look simply amazing and create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Simply wow.
The breakfast buffet is phenomenal. It isn't a huge huge breakfast buffet but it offers a fantastic selection of breakfast items. The hotel offers very special and local dishes.
The buffet consists of a mΓΌesli and cereal area, fresh fruits and joghurt, a pastry and bred station, a small hot item section as well as a huge cold cuts selection.
There is a fresh juice station and the hotel also offers some sparkling wine.

Coffee and tea is offered and served to the table. In addition to the hot items on the buffet the Hotel Atlantic offers a menu for additional breakfast items such as a huge variety of egg dishes, porridge and other hot items.

One of the ladies in charge for breakfast was such a super battles axe. She was super unpleasant, unfriendly and had no smile on her face. Her petrified mine didn't really fit the team.
She was constantly so stressed that she treated her team in a condescending manner. She snapped at them harshly in the breakfast room during both days in front of the guests and marked the boss that made you feel sorry for some of the employees.
I know that it can get hectic and that some staff might be new but she treated them disrespectful in front of guests.

Waiting staff at breakfast was friendly, very attentive and helpful and they offered a fantastic customer service.

Bar Atlantic:
Also the Bar Atlantic was just renovated. Here they decided to go into the industrial retro chic style and they absolutely exceeded. What a fantastic hotel Bar and atmosphere.
The bar is lively and anything else from a dusted hotel bar.
We simply loved it.

Drinks were good and the staff was fantastic. Always present and attentive.

Lobby Lounge:
The Lobby Lounge is the F&B outlet during the day, more a coffee and cake thing but it is served out of the Atlantic Bar.
Also the lobby lounge is newly renovated and it exudes a cosy and calm atmosphere.
Atlantic Grill & Health:
As one night was already reserved for a musical night and the other night we wanted to explore the city we havent made it to try the Atlantic Grill & Health.
Design wise also this restaurant looks simply amazing.
Atlantic Restaurant:
Currently closed
Executive Lounge:
No lounge at the Hotel Atlantic Hamburg.
Pool / Spa:
The spa and pool area isn't the newest one anymore.
However we felt very comfortable and liked it to relax at the pool on a rainy afternoon. The pool area itself still looks good and they added some modern elements. The beds could be changed and some warm deco elements could be added but as said, we have seen far far worse hotel pools.
Social Media:
Social media is quite active, especially on Instagram and Facebook.
Lots of posts from themselves and they do also interact on social media. They do write comments to postings and are very fast in the correspondence.
Summary:
A very nice stay at a fantastic grand lady with care and class.
The public spaces have been renovated beautifully and with lots of love and attention to details. The rooms and suites are okay but to cope with the rest of the hotel, they soon will need a little refresh as well.
The staff is absolutely customer focused, very attentive and friendly. They know exactly what they do.
All in all a great stay and we will be coming back to this property.
