The Hotel is located in the district Mitte and very close to the train station Gesundbrunnen with a small park right across the street.
Gesundbrunnen is an upcoming district in Berlin but at the moment not one of the top districts and it needs some more time.
It was the first time for me at a Moxy Hotel and the approach is completely different than any other Marriott Brand.
When you enter the lobby you feel like entering a big stylish hip lounge. There is a single center piece which acts as reception, bar, lounge and breakfast buffet.
The check in was good, really friendly, helpful and efficient. The agent interacted with the guests and kept a small talk throughout the entire process.
Bonvoy recognition is limited at Moxy Hotels never the less many benefits received and I was positively surprised.
The rooms are really nice in a modern and clean industrial look. They are comfortable and have a great atmosphere.
The bed was amongst the best I have had in a long time.
Unfortunately the room I had the first night had some technical issues. There was no cold water in the room. So you couldn't shower in the morning as either the water was just dropping or you
almost boiled yourself.
The air-condition wasn't working in the hotel the first 36hrs.
I told the front desk about the issues in the morning and asked for maintenance in the room. I would check back with them when I return in the evening or otherwise would like to change room. When
I came back 12hrs later I asked the front desk and the answer was maintenance was in the house and did his rounds. They couldn't tell me if my room was fixed.
I went to the room to find out still no water and still no air-condition. I asked for a room change.
The GM explained that the air-condition was under maintenance and should start shortly. About an hour later it was working.
The third night I had a long and great talk with the GM and he really engages with the customers.
The staff at this property is really friendly and interacts with all customers. It is a casual atmosphere throughout the hotel.
Out of 6 staff I met during the stay only 4 could speak German. Property language is English and they try to accommodate people who do not speak English by calling a team colleague to take over.
Unfortunately I could try the breakfast as I had to leave the hotel every morning between 6 & 6:30.
The menu for food is very limited so if you aren't into flatbread or pasta you need to go out.
The bar is nice and has a great variety of drinks.
All in all a fresh stay with some hiccups which were solved.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will be back for sure.
