After last year's bad luck with this property I cancelled all stays in 2017. This year I tried them twice in June and then they had improved.
As I needed a 1 night short notice stay in Berlin I choose the Sheraton Esplanade again.
I should have known better.

The check in was conducted by a trainee who had no Idea what she did.
None, but simply none of the basic check-in procedures were followed. No platinum premier recognition at all. I know that with the merger (SPG/MR) there were some issues and I asked her twice which level she sees on the profile and she confirmed twice the correct level.
Suddenly another agent jumped in and finished the check in. He apologized for his colleague.
The agent next to me checked 3 people in whilst I was still waiting until she finished doing something with the computer.

Check out vice versa was super professional and friendly.

The room was great, lots of windows and a nice atmosphere. It is one of the room types I haven't had yet at this property and it was really great.
The bathroom was amazing with a huge tub and rainforest shower.l

The bedding is top. Soft, light and fluffy duvets and pillows.

The lounge went down as well again. The cheap pizza is back for dinner.
Breakfast was good and luckily they haven't reduced the choice of food.

In my eyes this hotel is nowhere near a Sheraton Grand with their current customer service.
Thanks to the merger from SPG & Marriott there are now much much more options in Berlin and this Hotel might have to fight for their loyal premium guests.
