General Info:
The hotel is located in Bangkok's Sukhumvit district, in Soi 11 which became actually the location in Sukhumvit.
The street is full of bars, restaurants and clubs as well as. Street kitchens and it is a humble until the early morning hours.
For our taste the soi 11 is on the cutting edge of slipping into a pure red light district. Already now the streets at the evening are full of alley cats and you can buy weed at every corner. Not a good direction the district is moving.
You can easily walk to the BTS Station "Nana" which is right at the beginning of Soi 11.
So getting around with public transport is not a problem at all here in Bangkok.
The Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit is currently 11 years old. At some places you can see the age of the hotel, never the less it is we'll looked after.
It has a total of 298 rooms including suites in different categories.

The funky, young and trendy Aloft vibe is all over and we loved this fresh and young atmosphere. The interior is super modern, trendy, bright and very colorful.

Check-in:
The check-in was good. They agent was super friendly and chatted with us during the whole process.
Check-out:
Check-out was okay. The agent interacted with us and explained the final invoice.

Staff at the front desk was always friendly and helpful and if they had the time also very chatty. They greeted all the time when passing them.

Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador Recognition:
During check-in, the agent acknowledged our status.
He apparently would have upgraded us to a "corner room" which isn't a corner room and exactly the same as the room we booked. So it wasn't an upgrade.
As Ambassador Elite we were offered breakfast free of charge as well as the points.
In addition we got a voucher for a free drink of our choice for two people. Guess what we went for 😜
No welcome amenity or anything else in the room.
All in all a good recognition as Ambassador Elite Member for an Aloft Hotel. The upgrade which wasn't one leaves a bad taste as there would have been better rooms available.
Eligible nights and points:
Will be updated once they are posted to the account
Concierge:
The concierge service was super helpful and friendly. They always had a smile on their face.
Room / Suite:
The King size city view room or Urban room called here at the Aloft was nice. Compared to European standards the regular room was quite big with 32sqm.
The Urban room has the same size like the Chic rooms (lower category) but the urban room have city view whilst the chic rooms have neighbours wall view.
The room was equipped with a king size bed, a sort of a small walk in wardrobe included in the bathroom, and big desk and a big couch. The room had two big windows with a nice city view. Unfortunately the curtains were not long enough to cover the windows which meant early wake up as the sun shines in your room.
The room itself was super modern, trendy with useful furniture and decoration and very colourful. The typical Aloft room.
The aircondition worked perfectly fine.

The bed itself was very good. The mattress is rather on the firm side. The bedding was great with a fluffy duvet and nice pillows.

WiFi worked perfectly fine. Also the speed was great.

In addition our room had a fantastic view over the beautiful city of Bangkok.

Bathroom:
The bathroom was on the bigger side. It was super modern, very beautiful colourful and bright.
There was a sort of a preroom where the wardrobe and the vanity was and then there was a separate toilet and huge walk in shower.
Housekeeping:
The room was super clean and the bed was done with Asian perfection. Housekeeping did a great shop.
F&B outlets/ Lounge:
Crave Restaurant
Crave restaurant is the main restaurant of the Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11.
It is located on the 8th floor and offers breakfast and dinner.
Breakfast was super good for an Aloft Hotel.
The buffet is absolutely great. They serve bread, pastry, juices, cereals, hot Western and Asian dishes, cold cuts and cheese and other items. They also have a live fresh egg cooking station.
The quality of the food was really good.

We didn't have dinner at the restaurant but went on Saturday to have a look as the restaurant offered a fish/seafood buffet. The buffet looked simply amazing and the price for the buffet was also very reasonable.

W XYZ Bar
The bar is located on the first floor. A funky, trendy and modern Hotelbar. Very colourful but still very dark and loud music. It wasn't our taste but I am sure the younger generation might like it.
Splash Pool Bar
The pool bar is located on the 10th floor right next to the pool.
We had a few drinks at the splash bar which were very good.
Staff at the bar was super friendly, chatting and helpful.
Re:fuel by Aloft
This is sort of a market / coffee & cake bar. It offers drinks, coffee, cakes and snacks during the day. It is fully served during the day.
During night you can just grab some drinks and snacks and pay at the reception.
Executive Lounge:
No Lounge at Aloft. Never the less the hotel offered a voucher for a free drink for 2 people at check-in.
Pool / Spa / Gym:
The hotel has a nice pool on the 10th floor with sun chairs, umbrellas and a nice poolbar.
The gym is okay in size and well equipped. It is also located on the 10th floor.
No own Spa at the Aloft.
Social Media:
The social media team is super active. They interact with posts, repost things and communicate via social media as well. A great experience with the team and again a role model for so many hotels which do nothing.
Summary:
All in all a good, solid and nice stay at the Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11.
It isn't the luxury property in Bangkok, but it definitely caters everything someone needs for a short stay in the city.
Nice, comfortable rooms, great breakfast and friendly staff.
We can recommend the Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 and should we need a "simple" overnight stay in Bangkok we would definitely reconsider to stay here again.
