The Hotel is located in the Novena district right next to the MRT station. No problem to explore the city with public transport. The MRT system is easy to use,
fast brings you everywhere.
The check in was below any standards and especially for Asia super unfriendly. The agent couldn't have cared less. No Bonvoy recognition.
Front desk staff not really helpful. Every time you pass at least one is playing with the Mobile phone and never greets any customer.
Check out was ok but minimal interaction from agent.
The room was the smallest I have ever had in any Marriott/SPG property. A shoe box size 14 is definitely bigger. We travel in 2, means 2 suitcases and 2 carry-on trollies. There is almost no space in the room without shifting the furniture to one side.
The room itself is rather new and in light colors.
The bed/mattress is on the hard side but I prefer hard over soft. Bedding (pillows and duvet) is super comfortable.
WiFi works well and with an adequate and nice speed.
The bathroom is something different. You can't really close the bathroom door. You have to close the partition walls or otherwise you have to do your business in the
room or in front of audience. This is a total "no go" and a big "do not book this hotel anymore". If you are traveling just with friends and share rooms this is a huge problem.
The shower and water pressure are top.
The Urbana rooftop bar has a nice view of the skyline. Never the less it is a strange bar. You can watch people doing their workout as the gym faces the
terrace.
Staff again unfriendly and totally unmotivated. staying inside and playing with the Mobile phone.
The breakfast in the restaurant was good and tasty. Quality and quantity was really nice and sufficient. The room was super full, loud and more of a train station
feeling than a nice breakfast.
Staff was rather grumpy and no one greeted us. They are just doing a job and no interaction with the guests.
We had the "do not disturb" out at the door. Well that doesn't stop housekeeping. They ring you in the room to ask if you would like to have the room cleaned!!!! And
Zack..... You are awake...
I told the duty manager that if you call to ask if you want to have the room done if the do not disturb is out, it doesn't makes any sense.
The duty manager couldn't have cared less.
In the afternoon she called me again and said she investigated and that no one called me this morning, housekeeping would not call rooms. Let me standing as a liar.
Just check the event protocol if the rooms phone
But.... Housekeeping is the only smiling person. They laugh and interact as soon as they see guests.
You feel so unwelcome at this property. None of the staff has just a little bit of customer service attitude. Every hostel has more style than this Hotel.
All in all the worst ever experience as an ambassador and guest in any Marriott/SPG hotel.
The hotel has a big big issue with staff. Totally unmotivated, unfriendly and far away from Marriott and courtyard standards.
I wouldn't choose this hotel again.
