The Le MΓ©ridien Angkor is the closest chain Hotel from Angkor Wat.
Going downtown to the Night Market or Pub Street takes approximately 10-15 Minutes by Tuk-tuk.
The check in was a simple disaster. It seemed that the agent wasn't prepared to a check in and she was rather unfriendly. None of the procedures were followed and this is way not Le MΓ©ridien
style.
Check out was much better and the agent interacted with the guests.
The room was super nice and big in size.
The Interior is in a rather timeless colonial style with some small modern accents. Never the less the entire hotel could use some updates and renovations to bring them back to 5* Le MΓ©ridien
style.
The bed itself was really good. The mattress is nice and hard. The pillows are completely worn out and feel like bricks. There is no soft pillows.
Breakfast was served in the main restaurant. The first day the Buffet and the entire Restaurant were a disaster. Unfortunately before we came there were 2 massive Bus loads of Chinese Groups
and they left the restaurant and buffet as if a bomb would have exploded. Staff on the first morning was stressed.
Never the less on days 2-5 the feeling was completely different as no such big groups were present.
Staff was super friendly and attentive. The buffet has a big variety of cold and hot food and the quality was top.
The pool looks amazing and is bedded in trees and beautifully set up. However when you look a little closer it has seen its best day. A lot of tiles broken outside the pool, some tiles in the
pool are missing completely.
The staff and pool bar is amazing. They do a fantastic job.
The SPG recognition was top. They even close the bar for 2 hours to make a lounge out of it.
I would recommend this hotel even it needs some love, updates and renovations.
