The St. Regis Mumbai is a 395 rooms, 38 floors high building.

We were picked up by our personal butler at the car and directly brought to the suite.
Our butler Mrs. Tendin was really pleasant.
Check-in was done in the room and everything was explained.

The pool and poolbar is nice with a great view.
Mr. Pradeed who was at the pool both days is simply amazing and he was the only person we met at this property from the F&B team who takes customer care to a top level and goes the extra mile. Well done, thank you.

We tried to get an appointment at the spa for a massage but there was not a single slot available for 60hours.

We had dinner at the Indian restaurant and the food was delicious and our server was friendly and helpful.

After that we wanted to have a drink at the rooftop bar on the 38th floor. Apparently the hotel has lost the alcohol license for this bar and only β€žSoftdrinksβ€œ and snacks are served.
Without being a real bar it was basically downgraded to a sightseeing platform.

So we tried the Lounge on the 37th floor. The view was nice but the tables were dirty and the drinks way overpriced for what you get. The servers up there are snobby, cold and unfriendly. Not a nice atmosphere to stay.

Breakfast... where shall I start... this hotel has at least 8 food and beverage outlets. The hotel has 395 rooms and all guests need to go to a single restaurant for breakfast.
DO NOT GO there if you want to have breakfast in peace. It is a massive fabric, a real machinery with a noise level that you are not able to talk to each other without shouting.
A relaxed start into the day is impossible.
As all guests need to go to this restaurant it gives you the feeling of being at a train station with people and staff running around.

When going to the main concierge desk on the 9th floor where we met our Tourguide we found one of the staff standing behind the desk and rasping her nails. Clearly visible for everyone. Shocking moment for a 5* hotel.

All in all, the Suite and the butler service are great and at a high level of hospitality. But already a simple lemon tea brings them out of the concept and after 40minutes waiting time I cancelled the order for the tea.
The full rest, Restaurants, Lobby, Bars etc is like in a fabric and has no personal touch at all.

The bars and restaurants are there to attract people outside of the hotel but not really to make it comfortable for the hotel guests.
You will not be able to find the Indian hospitality here except for the butler service. The rest of the staff is doing a job without passion or enthusiasm.

I would not really recommend this Hotel if you are in Mumbai for leisure or vacation. This hotel is simply the wrong place.
If you are in town for business and need a nice room and you do not want to leave the hotel then you may consider it.
