The hotel is located a little outside of Surfers Paradise on the Gold Coast. The property is right on the beach. Architecture and landscaping wise it is an amazing property.


Own parking is free of charge.

The Agent at check in was really efficient, friendly and welcoming.
Check out was the same way.

The room had a nice atmosphere and a decent size. The Interior and design is simple and puristic.
The bed / mattress was rather soft but comfortable.

The pearls bar is nice and the Mojito’s were good. Staff was ok.

The oasis pool bar has amazing staff which give you the feeling of being welcome.
The first day they closed the pool bar at 16:00 and the second day (the pool was still full) they closed at 16:30!

Breakfast was delicious with a stunning buffet and a great choice.
Staff at breakfast was spreading a good atmosphere and the waiters as well as the chefs had time to chat with the guests.
Careful when not a platinum member from spg and ordering a second cappuccino or latte for breakfast, they are going to charge you 7,50AU$ for it!

The hardware of this Hotel is good, the software (staff) is ok. I like it here but....

The Hotel describes itself as a 5Star luxury Hotel. In my eyes it is not, except for the high prices of the rooms and F&B.
It is nice but it is definitely not luxurious.
I compare it with other 5Star properties around the globe and I will try to explain why I rate it different:

- Attention to details (such as decoration, staff, cleanliness, housekeeping etc) is missing throughout the entire property.
- Perfection is missing for a luxury property. Staff does its job but without passion or without going the extra step to create the Wowwww effect.
- Charging for a second coffee (cappuccino, latte, espresso, not the brewed drip coffee) at breakfast with an average room rate of around 400AU$ is simply unacceptable and pettifogging.
- Closing a pool bar at 16:00 or 16:30 (even the pool was well visited) gives you the feeling you are disturbing as a guest and the hotel gives away revenue.
- With such high prices and being a 5Star resort I expect high customer service. It is an ok service here but it is not high end. Staff is usually 2 steps behind the customer instead of 1 ahead.

I would recommend the hotel because of its location right at the beach and because of the landscaping and surrounding.
It is a nice resort but if you are expecting a luxurious high end resort with great or high end customer service, it is not.
