The hotel is located downtown Keflavik and only a few minutes from the Airport.
The check in was very professional, friendly and super fast.
Check out was ok. They didn't show the final invoice before payment. It was just printed after and I found mistakes which needed to be corrected.
Reception Staff was ok. Some great some just present.
The room is nice and has a nice atmosphere. It is the wooden Nordic style. It is not the newest Hotel but the rooms are in good shape.
Housekeeping really depends on who is making your room. Some do it with perfection of details, some just run through and at one day they forgot to do the room completely.
The restaurant and Bar "library" is brand new and really nice.
The food is excellent and has decent prices for Iceland.
The mixed drinks / cocktails from the bar depend on the bartender. We had the best mojito for a long time from one staff member to the worst one which we returned after one sip as
undrinkable.
Staff is good but not really F&B professionals except the lead.
The breakfast is good in terms of quality and quantity.
Unfortunately it is served in an old meeting room. This would not be a problem if regular tables would be used or different table sizes.
In this Hotel round Meeting Tables are used and set up for 8 people. If it gets hectic in the morning you have to share a round table with strangers. I prefer to have breakfast for myself.
Unfortunately it seems that the hotel management does not seem to have an eye on details or care about.
Credit Card payments in the Restaurant/Bar show the former owner of the Hotel which was Icelandair Hotel Keflavik. This Hotel became a ParkInn around 2 1/2 years ago and I think this is not
Park Inn by Radisson and not Radisson Hotels standard. I asked the receptionist and he said they know.
All in all it was a good stay. The Hotel could be much higher rated if all the staff would show more passion or enthusiasm in what they do.
I would recommend this hotel for future stays.
