Paul‘s Hotel Review for the
NH Collection Roma Vittorio Veneto Hotel
Member of NH Collection / GHA Discovery
Details:
Duration of stay: 1 night / City Trip
General Info:
The hotel is not located in the tourist hot spots.
Walking to the Trevi Fountain takes around 25 minutes and to the Colosseum around 40 minutes.
The hotel is in an urban area and thanks to that, there are lots of bars, restaurants and pizzerias in walking distance.
At the back side of the hotel is the massive park of Villa Borghese perfect for walks and runs.
The NH Collection Roma Vittorio Veneto Hotel has a hip and stylish interior.
It has a total of 260 rooms spread over 7 floors.
The hotel in general is in good shape. The interior is super modern, trendy, bright and colorful. It is or wants to be a modern hipster hotel.
Lots of bright colours, lots of style mixes and sometimes dark. The lobby which is in the sous terrain has more the feeling of a dungeon.
Check-in:
The check-in was okay. They agent was friendly and helpful Nothing out of the ordinary.
Check-out:
There was no real check-out. The agent had no idea what he was doing. For a print out and splitting the check he had to ask for assistance grin a colleague. No question about our stay or
feedback.
On general staff at the front desk wasn't the most friendliest or attentive. They were like robots needing the rights inputs to action.
Concierge:
There is no concierge at this property but there is a Guest Relations desk right next to th. Reception which is able to help.
Room / Suite:
The Deluxe room I got was nice and very modern. For my taste almost to modern and hip.
There were to many different styles in one room and the colour takes a lot of time to get used to.
The first room I got assigned was facing the internal courtyard and the view from the window was 1,5 meters to the next wall.
Front office changed the room without hesitation.
The room was equipped with a double bed, a wall mounted wardrobe, a small desk and a lounge chair with a table. The size of the room was decent and it had a big floor to ceiling window which
could also be opened.
The aircondition was working properly.
The bed itself was okay. The mattress is rather on the soft side and one side was already saggy.
The bedding was good. The duvet was super comfy and on each side of the bed there were 3 pillows in different sizes and different degrees of firmness.
Bathroom:
The bathroom was really big in size compared to the room and it was super modern and bright. Water pressure in the bathtub style shower was firm and good.
Housekeeping:
Housekeeping did a great job. The room was very clean and the bed was done properly as well.
Breakfast:
Breakfast was good for an NH Collection Hotel. I did not expect such a buffet in Italy knowing other Hotels.
The buffet is absolutely sufficient. They serve bread, pastry, juices, cereals, cold cuts and cheese, hot scrambled eggs and many other things.
The quality of the food was good and fresh.
Staff at breakfast was present and that was it. Some of them were super stressed and other were cleaning the tables.
The location of the breakfast room is something different.
You feel claustrophobic as it is dark and underground. No pleasant place.
Bar / Restaurant:
Does this hotel has a bar or restaurant? We couldn't find it without help as it is not indicated anywhere in the hotel.
The breakfast room is also used in the evenings as bar and restaurant.
It has the charme of a train station waiting hall and we definitely did not want to spend our time underground.
Social Media:
The hotel did not interact on social media at all. They are also not present on Instagram.
The group the hotel belongs to, (discovery) reacted to posts.
Summary:
All in all an okay stay at the NH Collection Roma Vittorio Veneto.
Very modern (almost to modern) bright and vibrant hotel. Rooms are okay, breakfast is okay except from the room.
Staff is present and that is it.
Otherwise nothing to write home about.
Should I be sent there, I would take it but it would not book this property by myself as there are other options in Rome.
