After a long time we are back at this property.

General Info:
The hotel is located on the outskirts of the downtown area of Warsaw.
For us Europeans, a lot in the vicinity can be reached by foot.(shopping center, restaurants & bars, museums and most of the famous sights). The palace of culture and science for example is a 20min/1,5km walk away and the famous oldtown market square, the center of old town is a 35min/2.7km walk away.
The walks are beautiful as you pass many other attractions.

There is also public transport in front of the hotel and another cheap option to get around in Warsaw is Uber.

The Sheraton Grand Warsaw was newly renovated around 6 years ago and the property is in very good shape and condition. It was one of the first "new style" Sheratons.

The hotel has a total of 350 rooms including 45 suites. The building itself is 6 stories tall of which the ground floor is lobby, reception, restaurants and bars as well as event space, the first floor is occupied with the breakfast restaurant and event space and floor two to six are the guest rooms, suites and the club lounge on the sixth floor.

Check-in:
The check-in was done with the cold hearted polish hospitality. Don't get me wrong, the agent was friendly, she was even talkative, chatted with us and did a great check-in.
But... There are no smiles and everything is done stoicallly like a robot.
Check-out:
Check out was done from the same agent as check-in. Again the cold hearted polish hospitality but again she was talkative and asked if everything was okay.
Front desk in General :
Staff at the front desk was very good. They were attentive and helpful if you had questions or needed assistance.
What I do not understand and is a big downside at this property, is that the hotel will not block a certain amount on your credit card for credentials.
At checkin they charged us the whole amount for the room l, which is absolutely fine.
The agent asked us if we wanted to keep the balance open for credentials and we said yes.
This means for everything you sign to your room, (restaurant, bar etc) for every single signed slip there will be a blocker on your credit card.
They promised at check out that they will use every single authorization number so no block should stay on the card. I will see if that works.
Staff in general:
It has to be said, that basically 98% of the staff can't smile. They work with the cold hearted polish hospitality.
What I mean with that: staff is always present, they are friendly and some even come and chat but everything is done without a smile or any face expression. They act like robots, stoicallly and have no passion in what they do or to deliver customer service.
Marriott Bonvoy Recognition:
The Hotel adhered to all Marriott Bonvoy procedures and all benefits received automatically.
At check-in, they asked which benefit (points or F&B amenity) we would like to have, as breakfast was included. They upgraded us to the beautiful Deluxe Suite which has an amazing atmosphere.

When getting into the room there was an amazing welcome gift in form of a big etagere isnack with snacks ans sweets, some Sheraton Grand Warsaw branded chocolates and a hand written welcome card from the team.

A absolutely stunning Titanium Elite recognition we have got at this property.

Posting of Points & Nights:
Absolutely top and i havent had that in a long long time.
Already the next morning (less than 24hrs) the nights, the points as well as the revenue were posted on my account and everyting was correct.
Ohter hotels should take this as an example and know, that such a service is possible.
Room/Suite:
The hotel was renovated around 6 years ago and the entire hotel is still in amazing shape and the team and maintenance does an amazing job in keeping up the property.
The Deluxe Suite we got is absolutely fantastic in size and has a wowww atmosphere. We got in the suite and felt home and cozy from second one and didn't want to leave.

The suite is held in blueish/beige colours and over the entire side of the rooms there are massive windows with a nice view over a part of the skyline of Warsaw.

When you enter the suite you get into the living room with a couch, a dining table and a working desk. There is also a half bathroom for guests.
In the second room is the bedroom with the kingsize bed, a reading corner with an armchair and a tv. Attached to the bedroom is the full marble bathroom with a bath tub, walk in shower and a huge vanity.

Bedding was okay. The mattress was great and rather on the firm side, exactly how we like it. The duvet was okay but we did not really like the pillows. One pillow was a delicate touch of nothing and the other unfortunately was closer towards a brick than a pillow.

Bathroom:
The executive suite has 1,5 bathrooms. The bathroom in the living room is actually a guest bathroom.
The huge and main marble bathroom with a bath tub, walk in shower and a huge vanity is next to the bedroom.
The main bath is massive in size. It is equipped with all the amenities.
The water pressure in the shower is absolutely top.
Housekeeping:
Housekeeping does a great job and the rooms were always tidy and impeccable clean.
There was no turn down service provided.
F&B:
The hotel has a total of 3 F&B outlets plus the Elite Lounge.
Mezzano:
Breakfast is served in the Mezzano Restaurant on the first floor.
The restaurant is divided into 3 parts. When you get into the restaurant, then you are immediately in the buffet area. On the left hand side, in another hall is the big seating area and on the right hand side of the buffet is sort of a small seating area which feels more like a coffee bar.
The buffet is very big and offers everything you can dream and think of for breakfast.
There is a bread, bakery area, an area with cold cuts and salad, a fruit and yoghurt area, juice and drinks, cereal station and a big warm buffet as well as a fresh egg cooking station.
The quality of the food was good, everything was fresh and most things were tasty.
However the cold cuts are not cooled and the Brie cheese sticked to the plate, cold cuts were warm.
The covers of the warm buffet were always open. Food was only warmed with the lamps above which means that all hot dishes were actually cold or lukewarm.
Unfortunately I had one the worst omelette in my entire hotel career at this property.
The omelette was cooked to death. It was dry like sand and had the taste of cardboard. Maybe the chef needs some training of what a tasty fresh omelette should taste like.
Staff wise there would be space for improvement. The welcome hostess has the same cold polish charme as the front desk. No smiles no nothing.
The waiting staff is super young and none of them is really trained.
They are working really hard. Unfortunately no one takes the time to show them basics in waiting tables. They were simply told to remove any empty plate, bowl or cup from your table immediately.
Once you have taken the last bite from something there is already someone next to you to collect the plate. Once you have taken the last sip from your coffee and if you don't protect your cup it is gone in milliseconds. They do not ask if they can clear the table or if you have finished, they simply take it away.
Kitchen staff and especially the chef who prepares the fresh egg dishes are super unfriendly and super grumpy. No good morning, no nothing. An absolutely unpleasant person for breakfast.
If he does not like what he does, he should not be working there or at least not in front uf guests.
Cucina Mia Bar & Restaurant
The Cucina Mia is the lobby bar of the Hotel and attached to it, is the Italian / international restaurant.
We tried the bar every night but we haven't tried the Italian restaurant.

The Bar at the Sheraton Grand Warsaw is unfortunately a huge disaster. There is no consistency at all.

The first day we had absolutely amazing and stunning staff who offered a fantastic service and absolutely great drinks.
The second day we got headless chickens which brought our order wrong and the quality of drinks was pants and in the worst possible execution.
The third night we were not served at all. A waitress brought some menus and we said: "we don't need a menu we just want to order some drinks"
She apparently did not speak any English and just said "I'm sorry I'm sorry" and went off.
After twenty minutes we were still not served and left the bar.
Concerning the quality of the drinks. The first day we had an absolutely great service and a top notch mojito which was close to a 5 sheep rating. Staff was attentive and guests with cocktails were given some peanuts.
The second day it was impossible for the service to bring the order correctly. The mojito was close to a 0 sheep rating and the execution of the drink was a disaster or done from someone which has no idea on how to do content cocktails. No nuts were offered and staff was plenty around but they seemed like headless chickens.
Just have a look at the pictures where you can see the difference of the drinks.
Consistency, consistency, consistency. That is absolutely missing at this bar.
InAzia
InAzia is the speciality restaurant of the Sheraton Grand Warsaw. As the name says they offer Asian food.
We had dinner at this restaurant and it was simply amazing.
The food was delicious, fresh and super tasty. Top quality and the chefs were also present and made sure we liked the food.

Waiting staff was offering a top notch service. Always smiling, chatting whilst at the table but still keeping the balance of being invisible but visible when needed.

Absolutely a place to recommend for dinner.

Executive Lounge:
The lounge is located on the 6th floor. Happy hour is offered from 18:00 - 20:00.
The lounge is accessible the entire day and offers softdrinks the entire day as well as some nibbles.
During happy hour the lounge offers an amazing buffet with cold snacks, a salad bar and even soup and hot dinner. Also alcoholic drinks as well as liquor are offered during this time.
The offerings in the lounge are absolutely top and the quality was amazing.
In our eyes, this lounge offers one of the best experiences in Europe.
Thank you Sheraton Grand Warsaw for such an amazing service to us elite members and thank you to the loung team for looking after us. This is very highly appreciated.

Staff was very friendly and attentive. The team and especially Justyn a took the time and chattet us and with the other guests. She made sure everyone was comfortable and offered a great customer service.

General F&B Summary:

In general we think that the F&B department is the weakest link currently at the Sheraton Grand Warsaw.
There are many many amazing staff and top workers but there are a few people in key positions where you think: "what are they doing here!"
Some of the staff go above and beyond and others are just present.
Also the quality can vary from top to flop.

The hiccups may be small in looking at them (drinks, staff at bar, chef at breakfast, poor quality of egg dishes) but unfortunately they are at quite important touchpoints that the whole hotel is loosing creditability.

Pool / Spa / Gym:
The hotel has no pool but a sauna and steambath.
They would also offer massages but again like everywhere on the planet, the prices for a massage at the Hotel are heavily overpriced. They want double the price for a 60min massage compared to a great day spa outside the hotel takes for 90 minutes.
If you would like a massage, we can recommend the Thai Bali Spa. See pictures.

I don't know, when Hotels will learn that doubling the prices for a massage will half their business.

The gym is on the -1 floor and very well equipment with cardio equipment as well as pumping equipment.

Social Media:
The hotel is active on social media and does post quite often.
The interaction with posting guests is rather poor, that gives me the impression that the hotel is not handling social media themselves but a agency.
Summary:
All in all a very good stay.
Fantastic hotel hardware with a modern and a great atmosphere. Stunning and beautiful suite.
Staff is hit or miss depending on the department and F&B outlet. The cold hearted hospitaly is normal in Poland. See the pictures below, they even post themselves such pictures of staff on their own social media channels.
One of the best lounge experiences in Europe.
We would recommend the Sheraton Grand Warsaw and we will consider the property as well for future stays.
