The hotel is located outside Hermanus on the Arabella Estate. Except for golfing you definitely need a car to get around.

The check in was good. The Agent was friendly and open.
The MR / SPG recognition was ok. Almost all benefits received for PPE guests.
The Hotel does not offer a lounge..

Check out was efficient and friendly.

The room beautiful and stunning. We had an amazing terrace overlooking the bay.
The atmosphere was good and the interior has this beautiful African modern touch.
The bathroom was nice, massive in size and a huge window.

Breakfast was good and the choice and quality of the cold breakfast items was great. The hot items pre-cooked were different. Items were cold on both days and the scrambled eggs had already an unpleasant color.
The problem is the staff. Zero interaction with the guests and zero motivation to work.

We visited the restaurant for dinner. The quality of food was poor. Here as well a big staffing issue. They couldn't have cared less about their customers.

The second day we wanted to stay at the Hotel and enjoy the pool.

The pool area itself is beautifully set. The hotel has an amazing garden with trees and flowers.
We decided to order some drinks and a small lunch at the pool bar.
Once there we waited for 15minutes but no one came. So we went to the reception and asked if the bar is open. They said yes. So back to the pool bar. Once there another 10 minutes with no staff. So we went back to the reception and asked if they could order. They did.
After 45minutes waiting still no drinks and lunch served.
We went back to the reception and cancelled our order, got the car keys and had lunch somewhere else.

The bar in the lobby is different. That is the only place where you feel welcome and staff interacts with the guest.

The spa is beautiful and huge in size. Staff was super friendly.

Summary: This hotel has an absolutely great hard product (rooms, lobby, pool area, bar etc) they have a massive problem on the F&B site. Staff couldn't care less and shows their demotivation to the guests. Quality of products was poor. I do expect something different in such a property.

I would not rechoose this property as there is lots more of great choices.
