General Info:
The hotel is located north of Durban in the Umhlanga Ridge area. There are many restaurants and shops around the hotel which can easily be reached by foot and also the big shopping mall is just next to the hotel.
There is no public transport so you will need a rental car to move around.
The Hotel has a Total of 205 rooms including suites.
Check-in:
The check in was simply awesome and super friendly. The team remembered us from the last time.
The agent was interacting and did a great job. Everything was done exactly according procedure. She did some small talk throughout the entire process of check in.
Check-out:
Check out was fantastic too.
Staff at frontdesk was always helpful and friendly.
Everytime we passed the frontdesk they always had the time for a chat and or asked if everything was okay.
Marriott Bonvoy Recognition:
The Hotel strictly adhered to all Marriott Bonvoy procedures and all benefits received automatically.
At check-in they asked on both stays for the benefits we would like to have. and on both stays there was an amazing welcome gift in the room.
On both stays there was a handwritten card from the GM and on both stays there was a huge plate with fruits.
In addition on the second stay they organized us the Big5 in toy animals as they knew we would miss the bush.
Room/Suite:
The entire hotel still is in great shape and it isn't that old at all.
The Theme they have chosen throughout the entire property is beach / surfing.
The executive suite we got, (1 stay upgraded, 2nd stay booked from us) is great in size and has a good atmosphere.
It is held in blueish colours with lots of wood and many small and bigger surfing accessories. The room felt super comfy and the huge ceiling to floor window let in a lot of light. The room has a balcony over the full length where you can see the park opposite.
Careful the rooms to the street are really noisy, so it you want to have a more quiet one you can ask for one facing the Courtyard.
Bathroom:
The executive suite has 2 bathrooms. One is equipped with a shower and bathtub and the other one with a shower only. The bathrooms are modern and both have a rainfall showers with awesome pressure.
Housekeeping:
Housekeeping does a great job and the rooms were always tidy and impeccable clean.
F&B:
The bar has a great atmosphere and super friendly and efficient staff.
Furniture is not always adequate for a bar. Rocks as a table want work as you can't place a glass on them.
Breakfast is served in the Restaurant on the first floor. It was simply amazing. The choice and quality of food is great. The presentation is done with love and the staff is top.
What we liked most, all egg dishes are prepared fresh for each guest, including scrambled eggs. The waiting staff does their job with passion and pride, they are super welcoming and friendly.
The restaurant for dinner unfortunately was the complete opposite. It was a disaster. Staff which was clueless, extensive waiting times even only 1/3 of the tables were taken and not really customer focused. Extra requests were denied.
6 staff for minimum and 4 standing in 1 corner and 2 running around.
Pool / Spa:
The pool is rather small but ok for a city property. There are enough sunchairs and other options to relax.
Summary:
All in all a fantastic hotel hardware wise. Great property, modern and a great atmosphere.
Staff at frontdesk and at breakfast is simply amazing and does an outstanding job in providing excellent customer service. Staff in the bar is good and for the restaurant oh well... They tried and there are so many great options just around the corner of the hotel.
But all in all an awesome stay again and we will come back.

We can fully recommend to stay at this property.
