The Vuma Hill tented camp is theoretically wise located within the Mikumi National Park.
Unfortunately the camp is located on the wrong side of the park which means you are in the park but not where the animals are or where the roads are for game drives.
The Vuma Hill tented camp is located around 8km from the parks main entrance. So for every game drive you have to go to the main entrance and pass that gate

The camp is located on a hill as the name says. It is located within a forest area and the view you have is minimalistic.

The check in was okay and super fast. The camp manager did it himself and he explained later what the stay would include and when the eating times are.
Check out was the same good experience as check-in.
The tent we got was quite big and nice. It could sleep a family of 4 as it has a double bed and two single beds. The singles also serve as lounge.
The interior is all in wood and stones with local accessories in orange color.
The tent was comfortable and cosy and the atmosphere was very warm and good.
The bathroom is something to get used to. If you are traveling with your loved ones, completely fine, if you travel just with friends, the bathroom isn't something to share with someone you aren't super close.
Why? There are simply no floor to ceiling walls or doors for the toilet and the shower., You will hear every tiny little gas which escapes not mentioning all the other noises and odours.
The shower has also no floor to ceiling walls and doors but that isn't a big thing.
The camp includes all meals except drinks. All meals are served at the main restaurant which is on top of the hill.
Breakfast was good and the choice and quality of food was great. You have the chance to choose from fresh fruits, joghurt and cereals, toast, pancakes, butter, jam, peanut butter, honey as well as from hot items such as scrambled eggs or omelets with beans and sausages.
Lunch is served at the restaurant as well or you can order a lunchbox to take it along your game drive and eat as a picnic.
Dinner is served as a 3 course meal consisting of a soup, main dish and a desert.
All the food is prepared and cooked freshly from the local staff. It is homemade, good and fresh.

The bar is also located on the main deck and you can choose from classic drinks, beer and softdrinks.

The pool area could need some love from maintenance.
The tiles and the area are rather dirty. The pool itself has seen better days too. There isn't much needed to get a big improvement of the area.
Actually the entire public area could use some love and renovation. Is seems that the camp remaind stuck in its early days.

The treasure of this camp is it's staff. Everyone we encountered was smiling, interacting with the guests and spread a hearty atmosphere.

All in all it was an okay stay. Worn public hardware, a nice tent and super staff. Would I call it a luxury camp, no not at all!
Would I reconsider it for a future stay?
I am not sure, most probably not.
First it is not really within the park. So why should I pay more than for a camp outside if I have to drive to the main entrance anyhow.
The only top or luxury thing was the staff.
