The hotel is located downtown Cape Town.
The V@A waterfront can be reached by a 10-15minutes walk or with the hourly free shuttle bus from the Hotel. Downtown, Longstreet and Bo Kap is within a 25minutes walk.

If you want to explore the surroundings you will need a car.

The check in wasn't really Westin standard. The agent was friendly but she conducted the check-in in a robotic way, hectic and completely impersonal. All Marriott Rewards Benefits received but only after asking myself for them.
Check out was good. More interaction with the customer and a much more personal approach.

The Executive Suite we received was stunning. The rooms have been newly renovated, lots of natural light, wooden floors, nice new bluish colors which gives the entire suite a nice, warm and homey atmosphere.

The breakfast in the lounge was really good. The quality of food was delicious and the staff was super friendly. Also the lounge was newly renovated. Never the less the service has been adapted to the Marriott standards. This means all the "old" famous perks which made the Westin Cape Town one of the best lounges have disappeared. It is still an amazing good lounge but the special touch has gone.

Service Express / Concierge Service has some issues. If you call them to ask for something or to get something organized they just give you a new number you have to call because they are not responsible for that. I have no issues to call myself but then the Service Express Line is redundant.

We had some issues with the pool service the first day and gave it as a feedback. The staff gladly accepted the feedback and things were changed the next day. Amazing customer service.

The pool area is small but nice to relax in the afternoons.

All in all a fantastic stay even the hotel has lost the little extra and personal touch it used to have. But the property is still an above level Westin where you can enjoy every minute of your stay.
