Paul‘s Hotel Review for the
Details:
Duration of stay: 1 night / Business Trip
General Info:
The hotel is located 2 bus stops from Geneva Airport at the Palexpo building.
There is nothing around the hotel but you get a free public transport ticket for the Geneva area which makes a moving around much easier.
The Ibis Styles Genève Palexpo Aéroport Hotel is a rather new hotel and it is hip and stylish.
It has a total of 114 rooms spread over 4 floors.
The building the hotel is in, is a mixed hotel building. That means on one side of the building is the ibis Styles and on the other side is the Ibis budget.
The
hotel in general is in good shape as it is new. The ibis Styles flair is all over. The interior is super modern, trendy, bright and colorful.
Check-in:
There was a quite long queue as only two open counters for Check-in were available. Both counters were for both hotels, styles and budget.
The check-in was okay. They agent was friendly and chatted during the whole process.
Check-out:
There was no real check-out as I got my final invoice at check-in and the agent just asked to drop the key in the key box because she was on the phone.
Concierge:
There is no concierge at Ibis Styles but the Frontdesk might be able to help.
Room / Suite:
The Ibis Styles double room I got was nice and very modern. The room was equipped with a double bed, a wall mounted wardrobe and small desk and it had a big window which could be opened. The
room itself was super modern, trendy with useful furniture and decoration.
The
aircondition wasn't working properly but luckily I was able to open the window.
The bed itself was good. The mattress is rather on the firm side. The bedding was so so. The duvet was super comfy but the pillow was unfortunately a disaster. It felt like a balloon and you
were bouncing on it until the air escaped and then it felt like a brick. There would be definitely better options.
I didn't try the WiFi as i was in my home country and there was no need for it.
Bathroom:
The bathroom was really good in size and it was super modern and bright. The floor-level shower was great and had great water pressure
Housekeeping:
Housekeeping did a great job. The room was very clean and the bed was done properly as well.
F&B outlets/ Lounge:
The concept of Ibis Styles Hotels provides only a Bar with some Snacks (hot and cold), a kiosk with sandwichss and salads and the Breakfast Buffet.
Breakfast was good for an Ibis Styles Hotel.
The buffet is absolutely sufficient. They serve bread, pastry, juices, cereals, cold cuts and cheese, boiled eggs and they even have a pancake machine.
The quality of the food was really good.
The juice maker didn't work properly and after telling the crew they placed some carafes with juice instead.
Staff at
breakfast was super friendly and helpful.
Pool / Spa / Gym:
Nothing of the above available at this property.
Social Media:
Social media seems to be rather unknown to this property. On Facebook they have 32 followers only and they aren't activ at all.
Summary:
All in all a good and nice stay at the Ibis Styles Genève Palexpo Aéroport Hotel.
Nice, modern hotel with comfortable rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff. For a one night business trip to the Geneva Airport area absolutely sufficient. I would definitely rechoose this
property myself and can recommend it to others.
