This stay was a two-night staycation in our home country Switzerland as traveling abroad still brings some hassles.
The Renaissance Lucerne Hotel is located downtown Lucerne around a 3-4 minutes walk from Lucerne's main train station and a 4-5 minutes walk from the famous Chapel Bridge.
The location is very good, and everything can be reached easily by foot or the convenient Swiss public transport. Lots of restaurants, bars, shopping and tourist attractions are nearby.
The Hotel itself is rated as a 4 star hotel and the rooms & suites are spread over 6 floors. It has a total of 68 rooms and 19 suites.
It is the smallest Renaissance Hotel by Marriott worldwide.
The check-in was simply perfect, and the agent was friendly and helpful. We had a nice chat and the process was done in no time.
Marriott Bonvoy recognition at check in was good and all benefits received.
Unfortunately and for the first time there was no note or small amenity in the room to welcome elite members to the property.
Check-out was very good too. The agent interacted with the guests, took care of questions, and made sure everything was okay during our stay.
Staff at the front desk was simply awesome. They always interacted with the guests in the lobby and we had some really good chats with all of them.
Thanks to our Ambassador Status with the Marriott Bonvoy program, we were upgraded to a Junior suite on the 5th floor of the hotel.
A small but beautiful suite. The interior is timeless modern and held in earth colors (braun, beige). The room was well maintained and super clean.
We had two regular windows which gave a lot of natural light and during day there was no need for the lights.
The air conditioning worked perfectly fine.
The suite has a very small living room with two chairs and a table. This part of the suite could use some more love and attention to detail as it was rather basic and cold. No decoration or some colors.
In that room is also the very small wardrobe, the minibar and the coffee machine.
The bedroom with the very nice king size bed is just opposite and very nice. It had a small desk and a TV.
The room itself is in good shape and housekeeping does a great job. Everything was clean and tidy. Unfortunately housekeeping forgot to clean our room after the first night but the staff did an amazing job and it was taken care of immediately.
The bathroom is very basic and bright. The rainforest shower was perfect and had some great water pressure.
The regular Renaissance hotel amenities were used and all other small items (q-tips, cotton balls etc) were available.
What was a big down turn for us is, that the hotel had no own restaurant and bar.
There is a restaurant and bar right next to the lobby which belongs to the same owner as the hotel but it is outsourced and you can not assign your Food and Beverage to the room.
This means that you will not be able to earn points for your consumptions.
I think this is done on purpose from the owner to save money which he would have to pay for points with the revenue generated by F&B

Never the less we used and tested the Pacifico restaurant and bar.

The bar was amazing and the mojitos were some of the best we have ever had. Simply top.
Also all other drinks and cocktails were really good.
The staff at the bar was stunning. Friendly, helpful, always a nice chat and super accommodating.
The Pacifico restaurant features a very good menu with a big tex-mex influence. But you can also choose from regular dishes such as beef fillet, spare ribs etc.
The food was super delicious and also here the staff was amazing. Dani the Restaurant manager does an amazing job and is omny present and a born customer entertainer. Absolutely stunning.
Breakfast was also served at the Pacifico restaurant. During breakfast the restaurant is managed by own hotel staff.
The hotel offers a small but a nice buffet with fresh bread, some cereals and drinks. Due to COVID some items such as cold cuts, cheese, youghurt and a fresh fruitsalad are brought to each table on an etagere.
They also offer fresh hot egg dishes right at the table. Everything was super fresh and delicious.
Staff is very friendly and super attentive.

The hotel also offers a small but very nice lounge on the first floor. The lounge is still closed at the moment but there is coffee and tea available as well as a vending machine for other items.

A very small gym is available on the first floor which is equipped with basic training equipment.

All in all, a very good stay at the Renaissance Lucerne Hotel. The hotel has a good hard product and what surprised us more an absolutely fantastic soft product. Staff throughout the entire property is amazing and they put their customers in the focus point.
As a small down turn: there was no welcome note or other small amenity in the room and as said a big down turn that you aren't able to sign your F&B consumptions to your room.
Should you be in Lucerne once, we can highly recommend you this hotel for your stay.
We ourselves will definitely go back to this property.
